Waiting on Wednesday (27)

Posted by

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
My pick this week:

Nerve

Jeanne Ryan
Release date: September 13th, 2012
by Dial Books (Penguin)

When Vee is picked to be a player in NERVE, an anonymous game of dares broadcast live online, she discovers that the game *knows* her. They tempt her with prizes taken from her ThisIsMe page and team her up with the perfect boy, sizzling-hot Ian. At first it’s exhilarating—Vee and Ian’s fans cheer them on to riskier dares with higher stakes. But the game takes a twisted turn. Suddenly they’re playing all or nothing, and the prize might be their lives.

I love the sounds of this mostly because it seems so different. A real-life, twisted, Sims-ish, dare game!? Awesome! The cover is really cool too it’s what made me check out the book as soon as I saw this on someone’s Facebook page.

This sounds really good and different and even a bit eerie because how does the game know them? Kinda reminds me of Tron. Love it and the cover is amazeballs, too. Thanks for sharing, Giselle 🙂

Whoaaa, this book sounds INTENSE. There’s also a creepy feel to it, but definitely has the potential to be a page-turner. It reminds me a of a whole bunch of movies and random episodes of crime tv shows, so it’ll be interesting to see this in novel-form~

This has a interesting synopsis and is really different from other books out there. The cover is eye catching. I hope it’s as good as it sounds. Great choice!

I will spend hours trying to figure that cover out. All your fault! ; )

Definitely agree with you, it seems to be very different & I really hope that it actually IS because after a time most novels seem to merge into one big.. I don’t even know what to call it. So some fresh air would be great! *g*

Thank you for sharing it with us!

HOLY CRAP. I think if this one is done well, it’ll be excellent. I have never, ever heard anything like it. The premise and the cover are both making me question why this isn’t out RIGHT THIS MINUTE.
