Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
My pick this week:

L.S. Murphy
Release date: January 7th, 2013
by J. Taylor Publshing
There's no way sixteen year old Quincy Amarante will become the fifth grim reaper. None. Not over her shiny blue Mustang. Her Jimmy Choos. Or her dead body.
She’s supposed to enjoy her sophomore year, not learn about some freaky future Destiny says she has no choice but to fulfill.
It doesn’t take long for Quincy to realize the only way out of the game is to play along especially since Death can find her anyway, anywhere, anytime. And does.
Like when she’s reassuring her friends she wants nothing to do with former best friend Ben Moorland, who’s returned from god-knows-where, and fails. Miserably.
Instead of maintaining her coveted popularity status, Quincy’s goes down like the Titanic.
Maybe ... just maybe ... that’s okay.
It seems, perhaps, becoming a grim reaper isn’t just about the dead but more about a much needed shift in Quincy’s priorities—from who she thinks she wants to be to who she really is.
I love grim reaper stories. All the ones I have read I have immensely enjoyed - my favorite is the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones. That one's an adult series, though, but it's seriously awesome and all kinds of hilarious! So anyways, I love the lore and death is just, you know... scary, but also fascinating. Like an accident you can't look away from! Reaper's premise sounds a bit light and fun, but it's tagged under Thriller/Suspense on the pub's website. Either way, I'm really looking forward to this!
What's did you pick this week?
Link me up! :)
Ohh this sounds interesting! I love reaper stories too. Too bad the release date is so far away! How am I to wait until January!?
ReplyDeleteBecca @ OMFG!Books
Oh my gosh! That's one of the most creative covers I've seen. Seeing her holding that scythe and the normalcy behind her is awkward but sends the message clearly. That definitely works for me!
ReplyDeleteNice pick!
Janus @ The Blair Book Project
This one seems really awesome and funny, but January 2013 ? Pffft ... That's really far away!

ReplyDeleteYou changed your blog design! I love it. The header works so well with your blog name.
Great pick! Great minds think alike because I was going to feature it but changed it so you wouldn't think I was copying ;-) But I love reapers and very much look forward to this!

ReplyDeleteMy WOW
I have the Charley Davidson series on my wishlist so I'm so happy to see you mention it here, Giselle. It sounds like so much fun. As for Reaper, I'm not sure if it's the book for me, the description of the heroine makes me think of Ellie(?) from Angelfire which I didn't get along with at all ;) That being said I hope you'll enjoy this novel once you get to it, Giselle.
ReplyDeleteI'm so honored! Thanks for featuring Reaper on your blog & everyone's awesome comments.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate it!
Wow, I didn't know about this one! I love Charley Davidson and can't wait for Darynda's new series, but this sounds awesome, too! Thanks for showcasing!
