Waiting on Wednesday (36)

Posted by

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
My pick this week:

Fall to Pieces

Vahini Naidoo
Release date: October 2nd, 2012
by Marshall Cavendish

When your best friend dies, you’re supposed to know what happened. You’re supposed to know why.

But Ella has no idea what happened the night Amy jumped to her death. She has no idea why Amy would want to die.

Ella’s other friends, Mark and Petal, are hiding something. Ella thinks they know exactly what happened that terrible night. But they’re not talking. Instead, Ella, Mark, and Petal play Pick Me Ups—a game in which they jump from dangerous heights. And every time Ella falls, she begins to remember pieces of that night. . .

It’s still not enough. So Ella brings a mysterious new guy into the group, hoping he will help shake things up and unearth the truth. But Ella’s “Explosive Boy” has secrets of his own.

And there may be some secrets that Ella doesn’t want to face. The truth – the real truth – about Amy’s death might just be more than she can handle.

It’s about time I chose a realistic fiction/contemporary for my Waiting on Wednesday post. I’ve been reading them a bit more this year and have found a few favorites. This cover caught my eye instantly and I think it could be really great. It sounds intense for one, and I always enjoy mysteries like this where I hope there will be awesome twists and unexpected turns.

What’s are you highly anticipating?

Wow, i hadn’t heard of this one yet, but it sounds great. I love how the title connects to the book summary so well! This one is going on my list for sure. Great pick!

My choice will be up in the morning 🙂

  3. Jennifer Messerschmidt

The cover is pretty. I like her hair. This sounds like a movie I watched on Netflix where a bunch of girls dared a girl to jump off and a bridge and she accidentally died. Sounds like she was pushed or jumped for some reason this girl can’t remember. Should be really interesting as the secrets unravel.

This sounds a little like One Moment by Kristina McBride.
The book looks intense, so I’m going to check it out. 🙂
    Thanks for sharing !

  5. Ellen Faith

I don’t read many contempories, simly because I’d prefer something unrealistic with mystery and love elements blended in for a bit of both worlds.. But this sounds fantasic!

    My WOW

You’re reading Contemps?!?! Dear God, no!! I’m so kidding ~ I’m just jealous you’re brave enough to leave fantasy-land. Me? I’ll keep visiting la-la land for a while, although this one sounds almost close to having a paranormal aspect to it. And the cover IS gorgeous!!

Beautiful pick this week!! My WoW

I have been on such a contemporary kick lately, it’s not even funny. This book. Wow. It sounds like the perfect read for me to continue my contemporary trend. Sounds thrilling and,as you say, intense. That cover, too. I love the simplicity of it… Thanks for sharing!!

Whoa. This sounds crazy. I’m not sure how I feel about this one. I think I’ll be waiting to check out the reviews for sure.

First, I have to say, that cover is gorgeous! I love her hair – I wish I could manage my waves into beautiful curls like that, lol!
This sounds like a really good read! So many questions come to mind, why would they play this dangerous game to begin with? and this mystery guy, wondering if he’ll also be a love interest…
    Great pick, Giselle! Thanks 🙂
