Stacking the Shelves (8)

Posted by

Xpresso Weekly is my edition of Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga’s Reviews featuring the books
I got this week, and I also mention blog news/happenings of the past week
.

Note: Starting this week, my Stacking the Shelves posts will go up on Saturdays, and my Fresh Batch will be posted on Sundays

Another week dead and gone, huh? I had a fabulous week. Great weather, awesome food, all that jazz. >.< So this week at Xpresso Reads I had the fabulous Rhiannon (right? It's like she's trying to take over or something!) over onΒ  the blog for the Last Bastion of the Living blog tour where you can read my absolutely giddy review, see Rhiannon’s dream cast, and enter to win a copy! I had a bunch of cover reveals, too, in case you missed any: Blood Bond by Heather Hildenbrand, Mind Games by Kiersten White, Crimson Frost by Jennifer Estep, and The Cadet of Tildor by Alex Lidell. I also scheduled a new blog tour – the Circle of Silence – that you can look forward to in July.

Did you miss any reviews this week?

So eeep I did another vlog! I noticed after that I have all the tour dates wrong, so it’s obvious that without my blog schedule in front of me I’ve no idea what’s going on. Enjoy! πŸ™‚

(click on covers or title links below for Goodreads)

I got for review:

*Big thanks to Random House Children’s Books, Tor Books, Penguin Young Readers Group, Karice Bolton, and Bewitching Book Tours for the review copies*

I bought:

That is all for me!

Oh man! I am just DYING for Origin! Great haul this week, thanks for sharing!! πŸ˜€ Off to check out your reviews… πŸ˜‰

  2. Jenni @ Alluring Reads

Another great vlog! So jealous that you got Origin, I wish I had requested it sooner. I totally love that neither of us read blurbs! haha I skim them, and I’m not gonna lie, it HAS gotten me into trouble before, being stuck in a historical that I had no idea was a historical!

    DUALED SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

  3. Kara_Malinczak

Awesome VLOG! I’m totally jealous you have Origin. I sent in my request to Edelweiss over a week ago and still have heard NOTHING. I’m wondering if I should resend.

Hoping my approval for Dualed comes in tomorrow. Those indie books you got look really good too. Nice haul this week.

  4. Bonnie Regan

hahaha… Lost sure did fail in a splendid fashion. I can’t wait to see what you have to say about Origin! πŸ™‚ Dualed too. I submitted a request but am still waiting to see. *fingers crossed*

  5. Vegan YA Nerds

Great vlog, hun! I would never have guess that Solstice was about zombies from the cover!

And I really want to read some Susane Colasanti, I hope you enjoy Take Me There!

  6. Katrina Marie

Origin is really high on my list. I can’t wait for it to come out. We are going to to Austin to meet her in September. I’m going to be adding a lot of these to my list.

  7. margie c {the bumble girl}

    Hi Giselle {waving!!!}
I’m so happy to see that you’ve decided to continue doing a vlog, you’re adorable!
I really enjoyed Susane Colasanti’s new book too! I was able to briefly meet her at BEA last week, and I’m excited to say that I’ll be seeing her at another signing on Wednesday! I hope to be able to pick up another one of her books (or two, three, lol) too!
Great stack, enjoy them all πŸ™‚

  8. Anna @ Literary Exploration

OMG YOU ARE SO FREAKING CUTE!!!!!!! I’m so happy I finally get to see your faaaceee!!!!! Seriously, this excites me. And your accent!!!! It’s so DIFFERENT! I officially love you more. Like that was possible πŸ˜›

  9. Lexie

Okay, first off, can I just reiterate that YOU HAVE THE BEST ACCENT? Because, yeah, you totally do. Also you’re just generally super adorable and awesome and you must keep vlogging for us.

And fabulous haul for this week. πŸ˜€ Dualed looks CRAZY good and Elsie is the best, which is actually why I didn’t request it–I know I typically enjoy books more when I read them in print. But you have a Kindle, so that’s a different story. I hope you love it! Also, I’ve got very high hopes for Origin. It sounds pretty great, so I’m interested to see how it turns out.

Origin sounds soooo good!!! >.< I want to read The Chronicles of Nick SOOO BAD!!! it's ridiculous! πŸ˜›
oooh I still need to get ‘Keep Holding On’ and by your review I would have done the same thing and buy the book by Susane based on the fact that it was written by her only πŸ˜›

    Enjoy!!!!!

  11. Ashley

Love the vlog and awesome books this week! Thanks for the tip on Dualed! I’m absolutely DYING to read it! *requests on Netgalley*

  12. The Teen Book Guru

Aaaw I love your vlogs, Giselle!! And I am completely infatuated with your cute and amazing accent. <3 Please keep vlogging! πŸ™‚ And wow great books this week, as usual. I remember your review of Keep Holding On, and how much you loved it, so I am definitely going to keep my eye out for Susane's books. I also got to interview her, and she is SO sweet and awesome and smart and stuff. πŸ˜› Great haul!! Hope you love your books, Giselle! <3 Btw I LOVE your bangs (it's a look i have been desperately trying to pull off… and failing) πŸ˜›

  13. Nick

Yeah ! You did another vlog.
I love your accent. Do you speak French ?
I’m so glad you finally got your copy of Dualed. I saw you getting excited on Twitter. πŸ˜‰
Lonely Souls and Solstice look pretty amazing. πŸ™‚
Origin is like Lost ? That’s so awesome. I had no idea actually. πŸ™‚ I’ll be on the look-out for that book when it comes out next year.
Anyways, enjoy all your books, Giselle. πŸ˜€
    Happy reading !

  14. speculatef

Oh Em Gee Giselle, wonderful haul! I hope you like Infinity, I started it once, but then I had to put it away and never really went back. I want to though.

Aww I liked your house though LOL πŸ˜‰ I have Infinity at my library, but I haven’t gotten to actually reading it because I’m a little wary but I’m not sure exactly. This is the first time I’m hearing about all the other books, too, but Solstice’s and Lonely Souls’ covers look absolutely gorgeous! πŸ™‚

Check out my Stacking the Shelves!

  19. Nicola

    I love your vlogs Giselle!

I thought of you when I saw Dualed up on Netgalley. I have requested it but I try not to get my hopes up about NG books in case I get declined. xD

I hope all your new books are awesome! I’m on the Lonely Souls tour as well! πŸ˜€

  20. Mary @ BookSwarm

What is Dualed? I haven’t heard of that one but with that tagline, I’m in! Busy, crazy, awesome week! I’m hoping this fab weather continues because it’s sitting-on-the-porch-reading weather.

  21. Danny

Oh so cute!!!! I missed your Vlog last week, so this is my first time seeing your lovely face!
You got some awesome books and .. ILOVE the Infinity series! It’s awesome and there are actually more than 3 books, I think there are 4 planned right now! It’s super fun and awesome!

About the Personal Demon’s series, love this one too! It’s a hotter piece of YA πŸ™‚ Have fun!

  22. Amy

I totally love your vlogs!! You are the cutest!! OMG!! Origin and Dualed!! Those both look so fab!! So I am getting ready to do my vlog for tomorrow even though I only have one physical book, but I will try to do a little dance lol!!!

  23. Aylee

Dualed! I’m squeeing along with you and Elsie! Too bad I just imposed a book request ban on myself because I was having trouble keeping up with everything. The again, it’s not going to be released until 2013 so it probably couldn’t hurt to request it, right? Haha, I’m already talking myself out of this ban. Meh, I should just go for it because dang, does it sound awesome!

  24. Katie @ BlookGirl

Hooray for Origin and Dualed! I absolutely cannot wait to read those books πŸ™‚ I like the covers for the other books. I’m gonna check them out on GoodReads.

Your second vlog was a success, love muffin! Your accent is so lovely and you look great on camera <3 Can't wait to meet you in person!! πŸ™‚

  25. Molli @ Once Upon a Prologue

Oh dear, you are TOO adorable. Can I say that? Because I just did. I LOVED your vlog and I really hope you keep doing them. I just adore seeing other bloggers “face to face” so to speak.

DUALED! I really really want that one. Maybe I’ll request it when I get caught up a bit more. EEP. SO excited for you and I loved you waving to Elsie. Isn’t she so friendly?

My book haul will be up a bit later tonight or I’d leave you a link!

  26. Mirjam

The only author that rings a bell is Sherrilyn Kenyon, but I have never tried the Chronicles of Nick. I did not like him blaming Acheron for what happened that fateful day in New Orleans. However, I do hope this will be a great book for your sake! Happy reading!

    My STS haul

  27. Nazish Reads

    Great haul.
Wow, your vlogs are good without editing (or did you edit them, just wondering), unlike my videos, which need lots of editing because I end up saying the wrong things sometimes, plus they end up being too long (since I film my monthly book hauls).

I also got Solstice for a blog tour.

Here’s my weekly book haul: Saturday on the Shelves (7)

  28. YA Anonymous

“Lost: A show I really loved until it failed epically at the end.” –> I can’t stop laughing.

And damn it, you lured me back into NetGalley with Dualed. Can’t wait to read that though!

    -Maggie

  29. Marybeth P.

Awesome books! I have Infinity as well, but I probably won’t get to it for awhile! But these are all great books.

    Happy reading!

Great Vlog!! Loved it! I’ve been wanting to read Last Rite. Dualed looks interesting, love the shadow on the cover, looks like she is kick a**. Have a great week πŸ™‚

  31. Rebecca

Origin sounds great, I’m off to read more about it on Goodreads. Dualed sounds intriguing, I hope it lives up to your expectations and MORE! I’ve yet to read a book by the author, Susane Colasanti, but Take Me There sounds great, especially her latest release, Keep Holding On. Enjoy your awesome haul of books! Happy Reading πŸ™‚

  32. Jasprit

Awesome haul this week Giselle! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Dualed or Take Me There! Happy reading! Btw I love your accent! πŸ™‚

  33. smallgirl

Take Me There sounds fun, and I’m excited by Dualed. I saw the cover reveal for Mind Games and thought it was great! Happy reading πŸ™‚

  34. Sana

You got Dualed, wow! I am dying to read it! I thought Take Me There you bought was by Carolee Dean and not Susane Colasanti. I love, love, love Take Me There by Carolee Dean and haven’t read the one by Susane Colasanti.

Awesome haul, Origin and Solstice sound interesting!

    Here’s my Book Haul post.

Sana @ artsy musings of a bibliophile

Nice haul! I’m looking forward to reading Origin, as it sounds awesome! And I really need to read Lisa Desrochers. Have all her books, just haven’t read them yet. Happy reading!

    Here are my books.

  36. Candace

Good book week! I got Infinity not too long ago on clearance as well. I have a couple Suzanne Colasanti books but haven’t read them yet. Hope you enjoy your new books!

  37. Bea

Wow, what a busy week! How do you do it?

I read an excerpt of Origins and I can’t wait to read the book. It really grabbed me.

Rhiannon does seem to be taking over your blog, you’re practically Siamese twins, lol.

  38. Kay

Nice vlog! I apparently missed your capslock tweet about Dualed, which made me realize I wasn’t following you on Twitter. Oops! But I absolutely can’t wait to see what you think of it! It’s one of my most anticipated for next year, too!

  39. ShreShre

LOL messed up on the last comment πŸ˜‰ YAY! I really want to read Lonely Souls and now that i see how excited you are: Dualed!!! πŸ˜€ I’ve been seeing Origin everywhere as well! And I can’t believe you bought Take Me There without a second glance πŸ˜‰ HAHA, GREEAAAT HAUL GISELLE!!! πŸ˜€
