Book Girls Don’t Cry: Meet Our Book Boyfriends!

Posted by

Book Girls Don’t Cry is a feature where we will discuss/vent/advise on a bookish topic. This feature is co-hosted with the lovely Amy at Book Loving Mom.

Sorry, They’re Ours!

Since today is valentine’s day, we decided to go a bit lovey dovey and tell the world who our book boyfriends were, just so, you know, no one else can have em. Muahaha. So we decided to limit ourselves to 5 each so this was HARD and we both have plenty of book boys who would have easily made this list!

  • LEVI from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell: Levi is the kind of person who is so just… alive! He likes to talk to people and he’s everyone’s friend with a smile on his face at all times. How can you note adore this fella?
  • ISAIAH from Crash Into You by Karie McGarry: Although I love pretty much all the boys in this series, Isaiah is mine! Like I said in my review “He’s got a badass look but the kindest heart and most gentle soul.”
  • SAM HENRY from Catching Jordan by Miranda Kenneally: This is another series full of awesome book boyfriend candidates, but Sam Henry I just completely love he’s hilarious and any boy that can make me laugh like that has my heart!
  • BARRONS from the Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning: There’s a reason I picked the last book cover to show – Barrons starts out arrogant, though fascinating, at first but by the end of this series I was all his! Plus, if you knew some of what he can do…

  • ADAM WILDE from If I Stay & Where She Went by Gayle Forman This guy had my heart in this book and then I really fell head over heels for him in the follow-up novel, Where She Went. If anyone reading this post has not yet met Adam you are doing yourself a disservice.
  • COREY LIVINGSTON from What Happens Next by Colleen Clayton I loved how this guy was so caring and understanding and yet he wasn’t afraid to man-up when the situation called for it. There is just something about a man who takes charge that just gets me everytime!

  • BODEEEEEEEEEEE from Faking Normal by Courtney C. Stevens (this is how I say his name in my head but it actually has a lot less E’s and is just Bodee.)  This guy was the tortured soul and the way that he understood the MC in Faking Normal made me love him so much.  He helped her get through so much while fighting some terrible demons of his own.
  • LUCAS from Easy by Tammara Webber For him I am going to use a quote and that is all you will need to get you hot on this here Valentine’s Day:

We rolled again and I was under him, his hands tracing and circling, followed by his mouth. Then he unbuttoned my jeans and touched the zipper and everything crashed around me.
I tore my mouth from his. “Wait.”
     “Stop?” he panted, watching me.
I bit my lip and nodded.
“Stop everything, or just go no further?”
     “Just…just no further,” I whispered.
“Done.” He gathered me into his arms and kissed me, one hand tangled in my hair and the other caressing down my back, our hearts pulsing out a cadence that the musician in me translated into a concert of lust.

  1. Nick @ Nick's Book Blog

LEVI!!! <3 He gave me the major swoons with his awkwardness in Fangirl. I love book boys like him, who aren't bad boys and are genuinely nice.
Isaiah too! He has such a hard surface but on the inside he has the gentlest soul as you mentioned. I still have to meet Camden although I've heard fabulous things about him. And yeah, he's a total hottie. 😉
    Great list, Giselle! 🙂

"If anyone reading this post has not yet met Adam you are doing yourself a disservice."
*hides from Jenni* Just so you know, I did buy the books a couple of weeks ago and I'm planning on reading them over the summer. 🙂
YES, YES, YES to Bodeeeeeeeee! I met him last week and he has to be one of my top boyfriends. He's just so sweet and understanding.
And of course, Lucas! That scene right there is when I fell in love with him.

Lovely lists, ladies and Happy Valentine's Day!

  2. kindlemom1

Some of these I haven’t read but the ones I have, I couldn’t agree with more!

I love the Hundred Oaks series, so many great boys to choose from in all of her books!

  3. Mary @ BookSwarm

BARRONS!!! He’s such a jackass but I think that’s why I love him. The guys I tend to adore in books are ones I’d hate IRL because they’re so alpha, so over-the-top, I’m the boss. Grr. And *swoon*

  4. kimbacaffeinate

Reyes from Charlie Davidson series, Rowdy and Dash from Lori Foster’s Love undercover series and Travis from Beautiful Disaster just to name a few..but I have a confession I have many, many, many book boyfriends and I love them all for different reasons..:)

  5. Tina

Wowwwww I literally have no idea. I love a lot of the guys from your lists above and other male characters in general but either I’m just drawing a blank or I never actually want those guys for me, just for the characters.

Off the top of my head, Marcus Flutie (Jessica Darling series). I adored him when I was in high school. Jase Garrett from My Life Next Door. I literally had no idea this would be such a hard question for me. Haha You learn things about yourself every day.

  6. Eileen @ Singing and Reading in the Rain

I feel so bad because I actually haven’t read any of these books, even though I’ve heard fabulous things about them. I’m making it a point to try and read Easy, Faking Normal, and Sins & Needles soon because the reviews for those books have been nothing but positive. Out of the ones that I have read (Fangirl and Catching Jordan), I totally love Sam Henry! Thanks for sharing, and Happy Valentine’s Day, girlies! <33

  7. Amanda @ Book Badger

Oh I so have to agree with you on Adam Jenni, I’ve just read If I Stay and boy is he a sweetheart! I’m also about to start my journey with Pushing the Limits series and I can’t wait to get there and meet Isaiah! Fantastic list ladies! 😀

  8. Faye @ The Social Potato

Definitely agree with Bodee from Faking Normal. He was such a refreshing love interest! If I had to pick a male from YA literature to be my real-life boyfriend, he’d be one of my top choices. As for me though, even though he’s dead, I’d love Fred Weasley </3 </3 </3 He's just the perfect kind of guy for me 🙁 Funny, witty, and uses his strengths to get by in life.

    Happy Valentines!!

  9. Wendy Darling

Ooo, I like Levi from Fangirl–I don’t know if I wanna jump his bones, though. 😛 On the other hand, I wouldn’t mind some face time with Adam and Lucas! Hee hee. I enjoyed your picks, ladies–looks like there’s a lot of crushing going on in the blogosphere today!

  10. Siiri

I approve Sam Henry ALL THE WAY, Giselle! And yes, I have Barrons and Levi waiting on my shelf and asdfghjk I CAN’T WAIT!!!! Also, Isaiah? He is bad-a, but his kind heart is what got to me in PtL already and I need to crack the spine of his book asap 🙂 As for Jenni’s books. OH, GOSH! LUCAS. Le sigh. That scene you pit there, idk why, but it always gets to me and that’s what a guy should always do. He is just freaking amazeballs. The conclusion to Adam’s story was beautiful and I wish there was something more from that world. That’s my only regret lol. Can’t wait to meet BODEEEEEEEEEEE 😀 haha.

    HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY, GIRLS! X

  11. ShootingStarsMag

I really loved Adam in If I Stay, but I still need to read his point of view in Where She Went. I also need to read Fangirl and meet this Levi!! 🙂

    Happy Valentine’s Day ladies!

  12. Alise

Wow, I’m lame. I’ve only read two of these books-Fangirl and Catching Jordan LOL. Although if there are some awesome boys to look forward to, I’ll be pushing these up on my TBR 😉

  13. Sam @ Realm of Fiction

I haven’t met all of these characters yet, but yes to Levi and Adam! I love those two at lot. And I agree about Sam Henry, Giselle. He made me laugh so many times! Hilarious personalities like his are the best. 🙂

  14. Janina @ Synchronized Reading

Yes, I love me some Barrons 🙂 I listened to the entire series last year on audio and I loved it! I can’t wait for Burned. The only other book I’ve read on your lists is If I Stay and that book was just too much on my emotions. Great post 🙂

  15. D. @ The Nerdy Journalist

Lucas Maxfield is just… amazing <3 I've also read What Happens Next, and I'm reading If I Stay right now.
For Valentine's Day, I did a feature called Battle of the Book Boyfriends. Please go check it out and vote for your favorites. Jenni, I think we may have similar taste in book boyfriends 🙂

  16. Jeann @ Happy Indulgence

Great post ladies, I haven’t read any of these books yets but glad to hear that the ones from the Pushing to Limits series are all dreamy! My book boyfriend is David from Weather Warden and Vlad from The Night Prince 🙂

  17. Melliane

Yessssssss! BARRONS!!! and know I’m ashamed to say that I don’t know the others. Yep. I know I really need to try them to discover these guys.

  18. Amy @ Book Loving Mom

Love your picks girls!! My post is so lame in comparison to yours. I actually had like no time to do it and literally did it this morning and posted right away. Lol!!! I am such a blogger failure lately.

  19. Alexa

OMG I love Sam Henry!!!!!!! I loved Catching Jordan because of him and he is certainly one of my top book boyfriends. I could never forget V from BDB, Alex from Perfect Chemistry, Logan from Mythos Academy, Nathan from Wild Card, Warner from Shatter Me, and so many more. Geez I have a lot of book boyfriends!

  20. Alexa S.

I have a ton, as evidenced by this latest post that will be linked in my comment 😉 But Levi’s a great pick, Giselle! He’s such a NICE guy, and he’s genuinely happy-go-lucky, sweet and just plain wonderful. As for your choices Jenni, I have to second you on Adam. Brooding musician with a vulnerable soul? YES PLEASE.

  21. fishgirl182

I feel so behind. The only one I have read from the list above is Sins & Needles, though most of them are in my TBR pile. This remind me that I really need to read the Fever series.

  22. Tirta @ I Prefer Reading

ADAM WILDE! Oh I’m soooooo in this with you, Jenni! He’s one of my absolute book boyfriends, ever. From what you wrote above, now I’m so interested to read about Bodee and the book, Faking Normal. What an unusual name! 🙂
