Jenni’s Stacking the Shelves [June 14]

Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews featuring new additions to our bookshelves.

I know what you’re thinking, “It’s Saturday! What am I doing staring at Jenni’s mug when it’s supposed to be Fresh Batch day?!” I apologize for the disappointment, I do.  Unfortunately Giselle is sick and even sitting on the computer makes her feel like barfing. Seriously, she said to let everyone know that “Fresh Batch might not happen this weekend because barf.” Her words exactly, I swear.  I don’t have the awesome skills it takes to pull of the weekly FB post so I am here a day early with my STS! I even made a video, so here goes:

Oh, so many of these look awesome. I just finished The Girl With All the Gifts and really enjoyed it, despite it not really being my usual thing! I’ve also really been meaning to read Something Real for SO LONG. Can’t wait to see what you think of these!

  2. Chrissi Reads

Amazing haul. So many pretties! I can’t wait to read The Girl With All The Gifts. I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. I’m also looking forward to This Shattered World!

  3. Nikki

I’ve got The Girl with all the Gifts out of the library, I’m looking forward to getting round to it (whenever that might be!). Hope you enjoy your new books!

  4. Nick @ Nick's Book Blog

Haha Jenni! Your videos are a riot to watch. 😀
Loved how you couldn’t remember the name of the first book in that Megan Spooner series! 😀
I can’t wait for you to read Something Real. I think you’re going to absolutely love it. Also, I’m going to wait to see what you think of Falling Into Place and Lies We Tell Ourselves before deciding to read those. They are already so hyped. It’s actually worrisome.
Enjoy your reads this week, Jenni. 🙂
Also, I hope you and Giselle feel better soon!

  5. Cait @ Notebook Sisters

I just read this amazing review for The Girl With All the Gifts (on The Midnight Garden) and I soooo need to read it! XD I’m hooked. Except I keep saying “The girl with all the gifs”…which is awesome, but not really literature material. 😉
    My StS!

  6. Shelley @ Gizmos Reviews

So many awesome books Jenni! Wow! I hope you and Giselle get well soon. Being sick absolutely sucks. I’m reading The Girl With All The Gifts. So very good! Have a fantastic weekend!

  7. Grace Fonseca

Its an awful feeling getting sick. I hope Giselle feels better. Lies We Tell Ourselves is suppose to be really good. I hope you love everything that you got.

The girl with all the gifts sounds amazing (and my name is in it :D) I can’t wait to read The moment collector/The vanishing season. I absolutely love Tiger Lily, so I look forward to read something else from her. Afterworlds is huge and I snagged Falling into place from Edelweiss.

Feel better soon Giselle and happy reading Jenni 🙂

  9. Pili

Awesome co-bloggers are awesome! You and Giselle make such a great team! Hop you both ladies will recover and feel all better soon!
Aaaan I really want one of those “Shhhhhhhhhh, I’M READING!” bookmarks!! Nay want, NEED!!!

  10. Rashika

Starting off with a random though (albeit somewhat related)… I’VE BEEN PRONOUNCING GISELLE’S NAME WRONG THIS ENTIRE TIME? WHAT? Noooooooo

Also I think everyone is starting to get a summer cold. I’ve had mine for a while now and it’s finally getting better but it won’t go away!

I burst into laughter when you couldn’t remember the name for ‘the first book in this series’ (I am sure you already looked it up :P).

I had so much fun watching this! 😀 YOU’RE SO ADORABLE. *tackle hugs you*
(it’s okay, we both have colds)

    HAPPY READING JENNI!

  11. Aneeqah @ My Not So Real Life

Awww, I really hope Giselle feels better! Tell her to stay away from the computer, and no barf!

I’m seriously jealous of some of these books, Jenni! I’m really looking forward to reading This Shattered World. I haven’t heard much about The Moment Collector, but it seems so interesting, so I’ll definitely be checking that one out. Also, I can’t wait to see what you think about Falling into Place because I L O V E D that book to pieces. Seriously. It’s the kind of book you won’t be able to put down, just an fyi. 😉

Lovely v-log, and happy reading! <3

  12. Kristin@Blood,Sweat and Books

I read Between the Lives last year and it was a great book. I’m glad others finally have the chance to see it (though that cover change ugh). I do wish she’d make a sequel but alas standalone. I saw the second Starbound book in your haul. I’m really unsure if I’m going to read it. I don’t really want to read Companion books when the main story still needs more told. Anywho…great haul this week. I hope you enjoy all your books!

  13. Megan @ Adrift on Vulcan

Eh, sucks that both you and Giselle came down with the flu at the same time. :/ My mom’s coming down with it as well — probably just the weather because it’s getting HOTTT. But great haul, Jenni! I’m so jealous you managed to snag a copy of The Girl With All the Gifts. I read Wendy’s (The Midnight Garden) review of it and became absolutely hooked. Plus, it sounds just like my kind of story. And EEEP, This Shattered World?!?!?!?! I hope you enjoy it, because I really liked These Broken Stars and it would be a shame if the sequel suffered from second-book syndrome. >.< Hopefully I can get a copy myself, if it's up on NG…

Great haul, Jenni! I hope none of these books are disappointments. You and Giselle better get as much rest as possible, too. 🙂

  14. Lyn Kaye

I didn’t want to read Broken Monsters until I read the blurb at BEA, and I finally scoped out a copy from another blogger (YAH!).

I also picked up The Girl with All the Gifts for Kindle. I’m excited to read it soon.
