Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we list top bookish things.
Note that Giselle and Jenni often decide to split it and each do a Top 5.

A hot TBR list for a hot summer!

  • Don’t Touch by Rachel M. Wilson: I’m always fascinated by stories that deal with OCD and this one sounds like it won’t disappoint. Β I’m very curious to see how the MC deals with her obsession in the face of it harming her chances of being an actress.
  • Rooms by Lauren Oliver: Β This sounds haunting and so interesting. I am a huge Lauren Oliver fan and even though Panic didn’t really work for me, I have high hopes for this one!

TT2 TT3 Let's Get Lost TT5 TT1

  • Dissonance by Erica O’Rourke: I have been intrigued by this one ever since I was compelled by its cover. It sounds like such an interesting read and parallel worlds/universes have always fascinated me.
  • Let’s Get Lost by Adi Alsaid: I heard Adi talk about his book at BEA and I was even more excited to read it after. He’s a funny guy and it sounds like this book will be a lot of fun, but not just fluff either. Plus, how can I go a whole summer without a great road-trip book?

What’s on your summer TBR list? Any that matches ours?

The Girl From the Well sounds really cool, and that cover is so perfectly creepy. I’m always on the lookout for more horror YA. I’m curious to see how good Rooms is – I didn’t like Wither that much, but I really like the premise of Rooms.

  2. Megan (Adrift on Vulcan)

Jenni: I love the cover for I’LL GIVE YOU THE SUN — it’s so simple yet eye-catching at the same time and I agree, the blurb sounds fantastic. Fingers crossed it won’t disappoint! And I’m going to be reading Don’t Touch soon, I think, and it’ll be the second book dealing with OCD that I’ve read ever. Definitely looking forward to it. I’m just not really a fan of the cover because it looks like some paranormal book or something, heh. Yes to Rooms, too — I met Lauren recently and she said something about how each chapter stood for a room in the house, so that sounds like a interesting and original way to write a book. I’m just hoping it’s not as confusing as it sounds, lol.

Giselle: This cover is GORGEOUS. I love all the colors and hues. Same here, parallel universes TOTALLY intrigue me. I’m such a nerd, haha. And ooh, I hadn’t heard of The Girl From the Well before now, so thanks for putting it on my radar! It definitely looks like my kind of read, I’m really getting into horror these days, so I hope it actually lives up to the creepiness factor. I haven’t read many books that are actually scary, you know? :/ Totally looking forward to Welcome to the Dark House as well. Its cover actually reminds me of one of Stephen King’s novels which is… good, I guess?

Anyway, great picks, ladies! Can’t wait for many of these books as well. πŸ˜€

  3. Jennrenee

I have a few of those on my summer reading list. I didn’t liste them in my top ten but I also have Lets Get Lost, Girl From the Well, and Welcomone to the Dark house coming up this summer. great list of books.

  4. Andrea @ Bookish

I’m so pumped for Landline! I just adore Rainbow and haven’t come across a book from her that I haven’t enjoyed. I’m also looking forward to Dissonance. I haven’t heard much about that one, but I saw all the packages some bloggers received from the publisher and the plot definitely caught my eye!

  5. Kelsey

Some of these sound really good! I’ve requested two of them, so here’s hoping I get approved πŸ™‚ Can’t wait to see what you guys think of them!

  6. Nick @ Nick's Book Blog

I’m so excited to read Don’t Touch too, Jenni. It sounds so amazing and it touches a topic that I don’t think I’ve seen many YA books have attempted. Breathe, Annie, Breathe is also on my must reads this summer. Yes to, Kenneally feelings! πŸ™‚
I’m very curious about I’ll Give You the Sun, but there’s already so much hype surrounding this book. I want to wait and see what others think of it.

Giselle, I am so excited for The Girl From the Well! Doesn’t it look like an amazing read?! Did you manage to snag a copy at BEA?
Also, yes, I’m so curious about Welcome to the Dark House. It looks like it’s going to be a thrilling ride!

I hope these books live up to your expectations, ladies. πŸ™‚

    • Giselle

No I missed the drop for that one at BEA, but I have it from either EW or NG anyways so that will do! πŸ˜€

Welcome to the Dark House could be either a total flop or seriously creep-tastic! I hope it’s the latter!

  7. Rachel

Landline made my list too, made quite a lot of lists today actually. I forgot all about Dissonance!! Such a gorgeous cover too!

  12. Holly U

Oh, you have such a great list!! Don’t Touch, Dissonance, and Welcome to the Dark House (which I’m extremely curious about) are all on my to-read list. Oh, and so is Rooms, but I haven’t read anything by Lauren Oliver yet.

  14. Mel@thedailyprophecy

I love Lauren Oliver’s MG books and I’m interested to see if I like her adult work too. Let’s get lost looks cute and I’m freaked out by the promise of The girl from the well.

    Happy reading!

  15. Michelle

You guys both have such an AMAZING list! Can I steal/have some of the books? :p Giselle, you will love Dissonance. It’s my favourite book of 2014! Oh, and Jenni, you seriously need to hand me Breathe, Annie, Breathe and Landline and ROOMS. AHH, so many amazing books are coming out this summer! <3

  16. Kaitlin @ Reading is My Treasure

None of these are on my top ten post (I stuck to personaly TBR books), but I’ll be reading Don’t Touch this summer! I may end up reading Let’s Get Lost as well. I’ll Give You the Sun, Landline, and Rooms are all by authors from some of my favorite books, so I’m definitely excited about reading those sometime. The Girl From the Well has intrigued me ever since I discovered it. It just keeps grabbing my attention. I hope you two love those books. πŸ™‚

  17. Jessica@Lovin' Los Libros

Landline! *squeals* I just listened to that one and sigh. I loved it. Really and truly loved it! It was my first Rowell book and I am so glad it did her justice! Breathe, Annie, Breathe also made my list and I’m really excited for Let’s Get Lost! Great list gals!

  18. Dea S.

Fantastic list, ladies! I personally can’t wait for Breathe, Annie, Breathe, Landline and Jandy Nelson’s latest title because The Sky Is Everywhere is one of my favorites. I haven’t heard of Dissonance and Let’s Get List, but they sound interesting so I added them on my TBR on Goodreads. I hope you enjoy them all. Happy Reading!

  19. Kayla

Jenni: Don’t Touch sounds really awesome and it’s on my TBR too! I hope you enjoy Landline. πŸ™‚

Giselle: Welcome to the Dark House and The Girl From the Well have lovely covers. The Girl From the Well sort of reminds me of that girl from the Ring…dun dun dun…

Haha, happy reading to the both of you! πŸ™‚

  20. Pili

Landline is also on my list for this summer!
I’m very intrigued by Dissonance, so I’ll be keeping an eye to read your thoughts!

  21. Laura Plus Books

The one that really stand out to me from this list is Landline! I’ve only read Eleanor and Park from Rainbow Rowell so really, I have to get a move on with all her books. Happy reading! πŸ˜€

  22. Bonnie

Cannot wait for I’ll Give You the Sun. Or Landline. Cannot wait, so excited.
The Girl From the Well better be as creepy as that blurb makes it out to be. I’ve never heard of Welcome to the Dark House!! Sounds AWESOME.

  23. Alexa

I really want to read Breathe, Annie, Breathe because I loved Catching Jordan so I need more. Yes I know there is a whole series. I own the whole series but I still want to have the newest one.

  24. Lyn Kaye

Jenni: I’ll Give You the Sun – OH I wish I had added that one to my list! Awesome summer read.

Giselle: Dissonance – YES! I went ahead and just added it to my preorder list, because I just have to own that cover, at least. It is BEAUTIFUL.

  25. Sophia @ Bookwyrming Thoughts

None looks familiar… except for maybe Dissonance. The cover is GORGEOUS. O_O

I’m hoping to get rid of my TBR Pile Challenge books – 3 more! And my Kindle library. That needs a really big mop, bucket of water, and well… quite a company of people to finish those…

Minus the people. I wouldn’t have a clue what was going on if someone read my books for me. O_o
