About Giselle

So who am I? Well, my name is Giselle and I’m from Canada (Maritimes). As you can guess I love reading. My favorite genre tends to change regularly. Recently I gravitate towards thrillers, sci-fi, dystopian, horror: Basically, exciting books that glue me to its pages (duh, right?)! My list of favs is below. I do read a lot of YA novels and this blog is mostly YA oriented, but I also really enjoy Adult novels (Horror, PNR, and UF), so you will see the occasional adult review as well. I also have an unnatural love for zombies (and not the nice ones… O_O)!
I’ve enjoyed reviewing books for a few years before the blog on some buggy Facebook app. I started more regularly when I discovered Goodreads in January 2011. I have been reading since longer than I remember. I’m not an aspiring writer, but I enjoy voicing my opinions (just ask my husband!) and they will be honest if nothing else. If you know me at all, you’d also have noticed I tend to have a… sense of humor, which bleeds into my reviews once in a while (and I don’t mean in a snarky way – at least not often).

I started Xpresso Reads back in September, 2011. I wasn’t really sure what I was getting into, but I wanted to be more in the book scene and I figured this was a good place to start. It quickly became my favorite hobby. I love being able to share my love of books; meeting and chatting with other bloggers/readers are the absolute best parts of blogging. I have made friends for life that I have never even met!

In September 2012 I launched Xpresso Book Tours where I organize tours, blitzes, and cover reveals. For the lowdown on all the features on Xpresso Reads, read my Features tab.

Overall, blogging has become something that I love and I hope it shows in what I give you!

So what do I do when I’m not reading or blogging? Well, I’ve got this little guy:
This is Alek, my little devil.

He can be a handful, but he’s a great kid. I was also married in August, 2009. My husband is the brains behind most of the fancy blog stuff you’ll see on here. I do the designs, but if it moves – that’s all him. Don’t worry, I won’t torture you with sappy wedding pictures.

Voila! This is me, in a nutshell.
