Nat’s not an alcoholic. She doesn’t have a problem. Everybody parties, everybody does stupid things, like get in their car when they can barely see. Still, with six months of court-ordered AA meetings required, her days of vodka-filled water bottles are over.

Unfortunately her old friends want the party girl or nothing. Even her up-for-anything ex seems more interested in rehashing the past than actually helping Nat.

But then a recovering alcoholic named Joe inserts himself into Nat’s life and things start looking up. Joe is funny, smart, and calls her out in a way no one ever has.

He’s also older. A lot older.

Nat’s connection to Joe is overwhelming but so are her attempts to fit back into her old world, all while battling the constant urge to crack a bottle and blur that one thing she’s been desperate to forget.

Now in order to make a different kind of life, Natalie must pull together her broken parts and learn to fight for herself.

Review: A Drop of Night by Stefan Bachmann

A Drop of Night actually proved to be a pretty interesting book.

If you like a bit of everything in speculative fiction, then this book might just strike your fancy. It definitely has some drama, history, mystery, and a whole lot of science fiction and thriller, and I daresay that the book was able to mesh them well. Even though there were so many elements altogether, it never felt muddled or out of place or all over the place. And to be honest with you, for a book of this kind, that’s rare.

Do take note – it’s not perfect. But it did try and it tried really well.

What are you to do when you receive a letter – out of nowhere – inviting you to help a team…

Calling all Fantasy fans! I have the lovely Shayne Leighton here today to talk to us about her upcoming book, Of Light and Darkness, along with a chance to win! First, let’s see what this book is all about:

Guest post by Shayne Leighton

The Stunning New Fairy Tale You Probably Never Heard Of…

I’m a published author. By Amazon standards, I’m even considered a bestselling author. But recently, after re-reading my debut novel, I decided something was missing. After five years of working with a small press, publishing three full-length novels and one novella, I was still left feeling like I owed my characters something more. I’d poured my blood, sweat, and tears into a story that was simply sitting on a virtual shelf…collecting…

HELP WANTED!

…and it has been ongoing for almost a month now.

I honestly don’t know what’s wrong with me. The last proper book I’ve read was Sweep in Peace and Winter, which were very amazing exemptions because the weeks prior to that, I haven’t been able to read anything awesome-worthy until now. Yes, I’ve reviewed some, but those were books I’ve already read before my life entered this abyss called the “bookworm slump”, and it’s been an awful, terribly ride, let me tell you. You know, it’s so weird for me to be this way considering I usually have a lot of tips for those who are in the same predicament:

read your favorite books! It will reignite your reading again! —> Only that I tried, and yet I still can’t…
