Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. 
My pick this week:

Rory Miller had one chance to fight back and she took it. Rory survived… and the serial killer who attacked her escaped. Now that the infamous Steven Nell is on the loose, Rory must enter the witness protection with her father and sister, Darcy, leaving their friends and family without so much as a goodbye.

Starting over in a new town with only each other is unimaginable for Rory and Darcy. They were inseparable as children, but now they can barely stand each other. As the sisters settle in to Juniper Landing, a picturesque vacation island, it seems like their new home may be just the fresh start they need. They fall in with a group of beautiful, carefree teens and spend their days surfing, partying on the beach, and hiking into endless sunsets. But just as they’re starting to feel safe again, one of their new friends goes missing. Is it a coincidence? Or is the nightmare beginning all over again?

I’m already a fan of Kate’s because of her Private series. It’s my guilty pleasure series – sort of a 90210/Gossip Girl type – and, though very different by the sounds of this synopsis, I’m definitely stoked for some more of Kate Brian! Not to mention that this is totally up my alley with serial killers and suspense!

    I was going to say I hadn’t heard of the Private series but it’s just that we have different covers here, now I am tempted to read them!

    And this does sound like a really intriguing book!

    Yes! I can’t wait to read this either. I haven’t read Kate’s other books before, but this one has really grabbed my attention. It doesn’t hurt that the cover is gorgeous too. 😉 Great pick, Giselle!

    I am absolutely intrigued by this book, because it seems like it’s going to be thrilling and full of suspense! Serial killers freak me out, but I’m also morbidly fascinated by books or shows about them…

    I dont know why i didnt realize this was the private series author. I know what you mean I love that series and I’ve only read the first to books. Will have to go add this to my TBR list now. 🙂

    I saw this book on Sam’s ( Realm of Fiction ) blog a couple of weeks ago and fell in love with that synopsis. I mean who doesn’t love stories about serial killers? 😉

    I love the cover of this one and I’ve been seeing it around a lot lately! Like you, I find the idea of serial killers and suspense to be fascinating, so I’m very excited about the release of this one! Awesome pick! 🙂

    I was kind of skeptical about this one because of Kate Brian having written a Gossip Girl-esque series (I really hate the books, though I love the show). Still, the cover is super great and serial killers are (this sounds wrong) right up my reading alley.
