Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Interview with Jennifer L. Armentrout
Q. Obsidian has some great characters, did you have a hard time writing any of them?
Thank you! I think the hardest character to write was Daemon, because he walks that fine line through most of the book, so every word he said and his actions had to be carefully thought out.

Q. What was your favorite scene to write?

Chapter 26. Tee hee

Q. If you could hang out with one of the characters for a day – who would it be and what would you do?

I’d like to hang out with Katy, because we both share the same love for books. And we could spend all day chatting about books. I’m not sure I could spend all day with Daemon without wanting to kill him or with Dee without wanting to slip her some Valium.

Q. Which was more difficult to write in Obsidian: the dialogue or the action(which includes the steamy ones) scenes?

Each of those things has their hard parts. Dialogue is tough when the responses are always snappy and snarky. Between Alex, Seth, Daemon and Katy, I’m running low on snark, lol. Action scenes can be hard because it really needs to be written in the way that the reader can SEE the fight scene in their head. And the steamy scenes are always the most fun to write, but they have to be unique from any other steamy scene.

Q. You already have a few books out and more coming up, which was (or is) your favorite to write?
Ah, it’s hard to just pick one, but I have to say Pure is my favorite, then Obsidian and then Deity. But that changes from day to day to be honest.

This or that:

Coffee or tea? Coffee

Mac or PC? Currently rocking a PC, but I’d do some terrible things for a Mac

Mars or Venus? Hmm…Mars is more interesting.

Edward or Jacob? Oh, dear God, I have to say Edward. *Runs and hides*

Hunger Games or Twilight? Oh, double dear God, hmmm… I’ve never read Hunger Games besides the first couple of chapters, so I can’t pick. I also don’t think Hunger Games and Twilight should be in the same sentence. Kids killing kids vs. Kids dying to be with other kids.

Jennifer’s Blog / Goodreads / Twitter / Facebook

Jennifer lives in Martinsburg, West Virginia. All the rumors you’ve heard about her state aren’t true. When she’s not hard at work writing. she spends her time reading, working out, watching really bad zombie movies, pretending to write, and hanging out with her husband and her Jack Russel Loki. Her dreams of becoming an author started in algebra class, where she spent most of her time writing short stories….which explains her dismal grades in math. Jennifer writes young adult paranormal, science fiction, fantasy, and contemporary romance.
