Waiting on Wednesday (39)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating. 

My pick this week:

Since her untimely death the day before her eighteenth birthday, Felicia Ward has been trapped in Level 2, a stark white afterlife located between our world and the next. Then a girl in a neighboring chamber disappears, and nobody but Felicia seems to recall she existed in the first place. Something is obviously very wrong. When Julian—a dangerously charming guy Felicia knew in life—comes to offer Felicia a way out, she learns the truth: a rebellion is brewing to overthrow the Morati, the guardians of Level 2.

Felicia is reluctant to trust Julian, but then he promises what she wants the most—to be with Neil again—if only she’ll join the rebels. Suspended between Heaven and Earth, Felicia finds herself in the center of an age-old struggle between good and evil. As memories from her life come back to haunt her, and as the Morati hunt her down, Felicia will discover it’s not just her own redemption at stake… but the salvation of all mankind.

I was all over this cover reveal this week. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it. What is it about? Who cares? :D

Yes, eventually I got curious and read the synopsis, and yup, I can get with this!

  1. Is the girl on the cover mad? Sad? Frustrated? Afraid? Kind of hard to know what she's thinking. Great WoW pick. Sounds interesting.

  6. Interesting take on the Between. I don't read too many books like this because they are so sad but this one sounds like it has a lot of excitement as well. I wonder if she can escape back to earth and be alive again. I wonder why these guardians keep them here. Lots of interesting thoughts!

  8. The plot seems pretty interesting. I'm not sure about the cover though. The girl's pose is somewhat awkward. :/

  13. I'd heard about this but never took the time to read the synopsis, but there was a ton of BEA hype about this since she was there talking about it and now that I've seen the cover and read it...definitely on board!

  14. This one sounds interesting, what with the downloading of memories and a rebellion and all, but a bit too sci-fi for my tastes. I think I'll pass on it for now, but I'll look out for reviews in the future! :)

  21. WOW Giselle!! You always seem to come up with the BEST and most kick-ass sounding WoW picks!! Where do you hear about all of these?? <3 And OMG the cover totally blows my mind!! I would definitely read this just for the cover... but the story behind the book seems fascinating and interesting as well. I LOVE books about the afterlife and people who are already dead but still kinda alive... it's so creepy and awesome at the same time!! XD

  54. Ok really!!! This book is EVERYWHERE!!! I have seen this as like 4 other WOW picks!!! AND NOW I KNOW WHY!!!!
