Waiting on Wednesday (62)

Posted by

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
My pick this week:

Boy Nobody

Allen Zadoff
Release date: June 11th 2013
by Little, Brown & CO BYR

Boy Nobody is the perennial new kid in school, the one few notice and nobody thinks much about. He shows up in a new high school, in a new town, under a new name, makes few friends and doesn’t stay long. Just long enough for someone in his new friend’s family to die — of “natural causes.” Mission accomplished, Boy Nobody disappears, and moves on to the next target.

When his own parents died of not-so-natural causes at the age of eleven, Boy Nobody found himself under the control of The Program, a shadowy government organization that uses brainwashed kids as counter-espionage operatives. But somewhere, deep inside Boy Nobody, is somebody: the boy he once was, the boy who wants normal things (like a real home, his parents back), a boy who wants out. And he just might want those things badly enough to sabotage The Program’s next mission.

This just sounds so original and I’m always up for a great conspiracy book! Plus, this cover is really… cool! For fear of sounding old, that the best word to describe it!

What are you waiting on, this week?

WOW, this sounds absolutely amazing! I think if it’s written well enough, this book is going to be stunning. I mean, the concept itself is just so neat! Like, an agency is actually brainwashing kids. I want to know why and how, and if this guy can push out of it. This one is SO going on my TBR!

Fantastic pick Giselle! I have no idea how you manage to find such great books every week, but you never fail to pick something awesome.
