12 Books I Need More Than Cake Coming Out in 2018

Posted by

2018 is gonna be a good year for books. Maybe. Hopefully. As long as these books I need more than cake don’t let me down. Otherwise, its gonna be a bad year for books and I am calling quits.

1. Meet Cute: Some People Are Destined to Meet

Who doesn’t want a story about cute meet cutes? I DO. PLEASE GIVE IT TO ME. I WANT IT.

2. My So-Called Bollywood Life by Nisha Sharma

I am here for a Bollywood rom-com in literary form. That is all. I came out of the womb ready for this.

3. Royals by Rachel Hawkins

I’ve read 7/8 of Rachel Hawkin’s books so you bet your ass I am dying to read Royals. You’re lucky you didn’t have to hear me scream when the cover was revealed.

4. From Twinkle, With Love by Sandhya Menon

I think it stands to reason I will read any book by Sandhya Menon? Also the cover is super cute and I am here for it.

5. Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi

AHHHHHHHH. A MG ADVENTURE INSPIRED BY HINDU MYTH?? Yessssss. I’ve only been waiting for this since I was a KID.

6. Save the Date by Morgan Matson

The funniest thing about me including Save the Date is that I haven’t read a single book by Matson but who can resist a book with a wedding? I CANNOT. Also that cover is literally the cutest in the world.

7. Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adyemi

Children Of Blood and Bone has a gorgeous cover and a synopsis that gets my heart pumping and that is all the reason anyone needs to get hyped for a book.

8. #Prettyboy Must Die by Kimberly Reid

The book is inspired by #Alexfromtarget. It’s a fun spin involving a teen CIA operative and I know I am gonna gobble this book up faster than I’d consume a slice of cake.

9. The Way You Make Me Feel by Maureen Goo

I Believe In a Thing Called Love was one of my favorite reads of 2017 so it stands to reason that I would automatically want whatever Maureen Goo wrote next because I want some fun feel-good vibes in my life.

10. Starry Eyes by Jenn Bennett

I’ve been reading Jenn Bennett’s books since before she wrote YA so yess I ALSO want to read Starry Eyes. Basically, just give me all the Jenn Benn.

11. Honor Among Thieves by Rachel Caine & Ann Aguirre

Honor Among Thieves is a sci-fic that involves thieves and thats all I need to know. I mean also, its written by incredibly talented authors so thats definitely a plus.

12. The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton

A dystopia set in New Orleans? I want it. I mean, I haven’t read a dystopia in a 100 years but that’s okay. I am still gonna want to read this book.

Are you looking forward to any of these books in 2018? What others books are you looking forward to 2018? HELP ME GROW MY TBR.

The following two tabs change content below.
Rashika has been tired since 2013. There are very few things that spark joy for her besides a nice cup of tea, warm, baked goods, good books and good TV shows. She is here to pile onto your giant TBRs and to-watch lists. Offer her a cookie and she might be nice to you.

Your list and Holly’s list have a lot in common! I liked The Belles, it was good- a bit longer than it needed at times because of some superfluous description, but good nevertheless. Reading Honor Among Thieves right now, so I’ll have to let you know hah. I feel like I am probably going to cave and read Meet Cute- I actually had a dream about it last night, how weird is that? Only none of the stories were cute in my dream, and half the time the couple didn’t even meet? Which I am sure the book is NOT like at all hah.

  2. Holly J

I also need Roshani’s and Sandhya’s and Tomi’s and Jenn’s books more than cake (well, okay, maybe not MORE than cake. honestly, I always need cake). You know how I felt about Meet Cute, and gah, I really need to get to The Belles this month. It sounds good.

  3. Charlotte

These all sound so good!!! Children of Blood and #Prettyboy Must Die sound especially interesting but I’ll have to give all of them a try at some point. I’m also dying to read Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik (it has to do with Rumpelstiltskin!) because I loved her other novel Uprooted more than anything I’ve read in a while.
