7 Non-Fic Books On My TBR

Posted by

As I grow older, the more fond I become of reading non-fic and in particular, celebrity memoirs. Even just two years ago, I would have gagged at the thought of me picking up a memoir to read and yet here we are. I’ve started spending MONEY on them. I am a wild child. Anyway, here is a list some of the non-fic (all celeb memoirs) that I’ve been eyeing and wanting to read lately!!

1. Born a Crime by Trevor Noah

When young Trevor Noah took over on the Daily Show for Jon Stewart, I was over the moon. At some point, even if you love them, you get tired of listening to 50yo white men. He was a fresh new voice and I’ve really enjoyed the show. His autobiography is definitely on my list and I cannot wait to read more about his formative experiences.

2. Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes

Everyone knows Shonda Rhimes it the bomb dot com and her autobiography sounds amazing. Its a year of her saying yes to the things she is afraid of and I needs to get on top of that.

3. Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick

Anna Kendrick is hilarious and it stands to reason that her autobiography would be just as much fun to read as her tweets are

4. Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson

I read and adored Let’s Pretend This Never Happened and I need to get on top of my tbr so I can read Furiously Happy.

5. Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me by Mindy Kaling

I am only familiar with Mindy Kaling from watching The Office but everyone and their cat adores her. So many people I know have also devoured and adored her autobiographies and I gotta jump on that train.

6. Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari

I ABSOLUTELY ADORE Aziz Ansari and I had no idea he had even written an autobiography until like a few weeks ago. So I did what any self respecting book-worm would do and requested it at my library. Also, like, why do they only have the german ebook? What is up with that?

7. Bad Feminist by Roxane Gay

Am I a bad feminist for not having read this yet? Maybe… I got to read an essay from the novel in the Here We Are anthology and really enjoyed it so I guess I need to read the entire book now. *sighs*

Have your reading tastes also changed over the years? Have you been reading any non-fic lately? Anything I should add to my shelves? Let me know!

The following two tabs change content below.
Rashika has been tired since 2013. There are very few things that spark joy for her besides a nice cup of tea, warm, baked goods, good books and good TV shows. She is here to pile onto your giant TBRs and to-watch lists. Offer her a cookie and she might be nice to you.
