Seventeen-year-old Bo has always had delusions that he can travel through time. When he was ten, Bo claimed to have witnessed the Titanic hit an iceberg, and at fifteen, he found himself on a Civil War battlefield, horrified by the bodies surrounding him. So when his concerned parents send him to a school for troubled youth, Bo assumes he knows the truth: that he’s actually attending Berkshire Academy, a school for kids who, like Bo, have “superpowers.”

At Berkshire, Bo falls in love with Sofia, a quiet girl with a tragic past and the superpower of invisibility. Sofia helps Bo open up in a way he never has before. In turn, Bo provides comfort to Sofia, who lost her mother and two sisters at a very young age.

But even the strength of their love isn’t enough to help Sofia escape her deep depression. After she commits suicide, Bo is convinced that she’s not actually dead. He believes that she’s stuck somewhere in time — that he somehow left her in the past, and now it’s his job to save her.

Blog Tour: Goldfish by Nat Luurtsema Review and Guest Post

Posted by on 07/15/2016 • 1 Comment

Hello loves!! Today I have the pleasure of taking part in the Goldfish blog tour. I have my review and a guest post from the author. This book is about swimming and summer is the perfect time to be thinking about that. I can’t wait to hit the beach soon. Hopefully some of you will be too. Just don’t forget the sunblock!! (Sorry, I work at a dermatologist office so I have to promote keeping your skin protected.)

While I enjoyed this book, it wasn’t one of my favorites. The MC kind of irritated me, but once again it may be because since I am older, it’s harder to remember the high school girl mind. She just seemed so much about herself and it took too long to…

10 Upcoming LGBTQIA+ Books to Watch Out For

Posted by on 07/13/2016 • 9 Comments

Earlier in the year, I did a similar list that covered the first half of the year and I thought it might be time for another list that covers all the amazing LGBTQIA+ books coming out in the second half of the year that have me tingling with excitement (does that even make SENSE?)

1. Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit by Jaye Robin Brown

Joanna Gordon who has been out and proud for years is asked by her father to “lie low” when they move to a more conservative town. Sparks fly though when she meets the sister of a new friend…. WHAT WILL SHE DO???

Pub Date: August 30th 2. Been Here All Along by Sandy Hall

This book is basically Taylor Swift’s You Belong With Me…

Seventeen-year-old Nina Barrows knows all about the Thief. She’s intimately familiar with his hunting methods: how he stalks and kills at random, how he disposes of his victims’ bodies in an abandoned mine in the deepest, most desolate part of a desert.

Now, for the first time, Nina has the chance to do something about the serial killer that no one else knows exists. With the help of her former best friend, Warren, she tracks the Thief two thousand miles, to his home turf—the deserts of New Mexico.

Epic Cover Battles #8: Pride and Prejudice Edition

Posted by on 07/06/2016 • 9 Comments

You might love it, hate it, never have read it but you’ve probably heard of Pride and Prejudice. After all, Goodreads tells me there are 2557 published editions of it (and probably even more that haven’t been recorded on Goodreads). While it would be impossible for me to showcase all of them, I chose 3 that I thought were pretty and wanted to battle them out for this edition of Epic Cover Battles! Let me know if you have another fav edition in the comments so I can oooh and aaah over ittt 🙂

May the best cover win!

The first of two books.

Bo Dickinson is a girl with a wild reputation, a deadbeat dad, and a mama who’s not exactly sober most of the time. Everyone in town knows the Dickinsons are a bad lot, but Bo doesn’t care what anyone thinks.

Agnes Atwood has never gone on a date, never even stayed out past ten, and never broken any of her parents’ overbearing rules. Rules that are meant to protect their legally blind daughter — protect her from what, Agnes isn’t quite sure.

Despite everything, Bo and Agnes become best friends. And…

Epic Cover Battles #7: Series Redesign Edition

Posted by on 06/24/2016 • 9 Comments

Welcome to yet another edition of Epic Cover Battles. I absolutely hate it when a series gets a complete redesign mid-way through the series but sometimes the change is for the better. So today you can voteeee for whether or not you like the covers before the redesign or after… Can redesigns be for the better good? WE WILL FIND OUT. (I feel like an MC for a tv show as I write this)
