Waiting on Wednesday (18)

Posted by

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
My pick this week:
                                    Touched
                                    Corrine Jackson
                                    Release date: December, 2012
by Kensington/KTeen

Remy O’Malley has the power to heal people with her touch, but her ability comes at a steep cost because every illness or injury she heals becomes her own.

This does sound similar to Maria Snyder’s Touch of Power but I haven’t read that one (yet) and Touched sounds like it could be great. I’m hoping a longer blurb will be revealed soon so we can get more insight on the plot itself. Corrine Jackson is also the author of the upcoming YA contemporary If I Lie which I’m also really looking forward to!

A note on the cover: I’m not sure if the cover for the US release will be the same since this one seems to be from the German publisher – but it’s beautiful. I really like it!

What are you waiting on?

Oh! German cover! Since I AM from Germany, I have seen that one already in one of the publisher’s websites, and I think there was also a giveaway on Goodreads once, but I haven’t read the blurb until now.

I’ve heard some good things about Maria Snyder, so I might check Touch of Power out.. *grin*

I had not heard of this book yet! It does sound really good and I haven’t read Touch of Power yet either but I think I’ll be reading both! Healing someone would be awesome but I don’t want to take their injuries! I see lots of touch choices for this character! Thanks for sharing.

*lol* I was just going to mention how it sounds similar to Touch of Power, but it of course it’s bound to be different. But, as you said, the cover IS GORGEOUS. I have a thing for pink (purple, and bluish) covers, especially with sparkles and pretty glowy swirls. I’m a cover whore, so this has caught my attention.

    Have an amazing reading week!

You’re right, it does sound a lot like the premise of Touch of Power! I haven’t read that one yet but I like the general idea of a healer taking on another’s pain. Just hope that these two books aren’t too similar!
