Waiting on Wednesday (58)

Posted by

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
My pick this week:

The Originals

Cat Patrick
Release date: May 7th 2013
by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers

A riveting new story from Cat Patrick, author of Forgotten and Revived.

17-year-olds Lizzie, Ella, and Betsey Best grew up as identical triplets… until they discovered a shocking family secret. They’re actually closer than sisters, they’re clones. Hiding from a government agency that would expose them, the Best family appears to consist of a single mother with one daughter named Elizabeth. Lizzie, Ella, and Betsey take turns going to school, attending social engagements, and a group mindset has always been a de facto part of life…

Then Lizzie meets Sean Kelly, a guy who seems to see into her very soul. As their relationship develops, Lizzie realizes that she’s not a carbon copy of her sisters; she’s an individual with unique dreams and desires, and digging deeper into her background, Lizzie begins to dismantle the delicate balance of an unusual family that only science could have created.

I love sci-fi, especially lately; almost all sci-fi YA novels Ive read I highly enjoyed so when I saw this one with a kind of cool (though very familiar looking) cover I knew I wanted it!

Oooh this seems so good! I hope the romance isn’t the usual cliché stuff.
    >.< Me too! I'm just reading Obsidian which is very much also sci fi and I'm loving it! PLUS it's Cat Patrick! Score! Great pick. 🙂

It has a cover! It has a cover! Yahoo! OK, so I don’t actually like it but it makes it all the more real. Cat Patrick has a new book coming out next year! Yippee!

I loved Forgotten and Revived was awesome so I’m sure The Originals won’t disappoint. Cat has quickly become a must-buy author for me and I am just so excited for this book.

Oh, it has cover. I can’t wait! Becca happy 😀

    Thanks for sharing!

When did this get a cover? This is on my TBR list too. It sounds really good. I have been loving sci-fi lately too. I never really used to read it, but the past couple months I can’t get enough!!

This one sounds so creepy and awesome doesn’t it?

Also, I agree with you about it looking familiar, though I can’t think of what cover it’s reminding me of in the slightest. :-/ If I look at it too long, it makes me a little dizzy. Haha.

Oooohhh, cloning. Sounds pretty sweet! I wasn’t that much a fan of Revive. It was very interesting and cool and I loved the secret experiment side to it, but this one sounds a bit different.
    Great pick!
    Cheers!
