Waiting on Wednesday (60)

Posted by

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
My pick this week:

The Fifth Wave

Rick Yancey
Release date: May 7th 2013
 by Putnam Children’s

After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother–or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

This sounds so ominous and scary! I’m already uber curious about this world! Beings who only look human? It calls my name!

Wow this definitely sounds interesting! I just did my first Waiting on Wednesday. It’s here. I am also looking for a designer for my blog so take a peek and see if you have any ideas! 😉

Sounds like a very exciting story! I am very curious about what has happened to the world and what is killing everyone that only looks human. Plus being in the world all by yourself and then meeting Evan. Hopefully she can save her brother. I wonder where he is?!
    My WOW

Oooh ooh ooh this seems so good!!!! I LOVE Dystopians and especially one with what seems like a hint of romance? 😉 Lovely pick, Giselle, and I wish we didn’t have to wait so long for it to come out. 🙁

Oooh wow this sounds scary & intense! I like the sound of the waves too, it gives it a more realistic creepy feel. Thanks for sharing Giselle and I hope you’ll love this when you get your hands on it 🙂

    My WoW this week.

I like the sound of this! Definitely sounds creepy and I, too, am curious what the “them” are! Though the cover does make it look like the name of the book is The Five Wave unless I’m blind and there is a th there. But that’s just me being picky. And probably wrong. Oki bye!

I love the covers of the WoW picks lately! (And I’m known to pick a book because of its cover.)

Love what this one sounds like, too. You’re right about it sounding ominous and scary. Thanks for a great Waiting pick – and another that I hadn’t heard about before!
