In the domed city of Yuan, the blind Princess Isra, a Smooth Skin, is raised to be a human sacrifice whose death will ensure her city’s vitality. In the desert outside Yuan, Gem, a mutant beast, fights to save his people, the Monstrous, from starvation. Neither dreams that together, they could return balance to both their worlds.
Isra wants to help the city’s Banished people, second-class citizens despised for possessing Monstrous traits. But after she enlists the aid of her prisoner, Gem, who has been captured while trying to steal Yuan’s enchanted roses, she begins to care for him, and to question everything she has been brought up to believe.
As secrets are revealed and Isra’s sight, which vanished during her childhood, returned, Isra will have to choose between duty to her people and the beast she has come to love.

Stacey Jay is a recovering workaholic (or at least working hard at recovering) with three pen names, two small children, and a passion for playing pretend for a living. Of Beast and Beauty sounds awesome! There have been some great reviews for it! I need to read Undercurrent and Nomad still. I’m still playing catch up, and getting a puppy (and the Big Brother live feeds) hasn’t been helping. I’m so distracted from reading!!

Extremites and The Invention Of Murder sound right up my alley. I’m a big fan of True Crime and its been a very long time since I’ve read anything in that genre. I’m also looking forward to A Darkness Strange and Lovely and Contaminated!!

I’ve heard really good things about OCD Love Story, so I’m definitely going to buy that one. Of Beauty and Beasts looks amazing, but I wasn’t a fan of Stacey Jay’s previous books, so I’m not sure.

Hmmm you know, other than Starglass there isn’t any other book on my reading/wishlist coming out this week! I mean there was Nomad, but thanks to YOURS TRULY I have a nice shiny copy as my next e-book read 😀 I *do* still need to read I Am Number Four though…my copy’s been collecting dust on my shelf for years now >.< Oh and I love the covers for the Something Strange & Deadly series but zombies = not for me.
