Gated
Amy Christine Parker
Publication date: August 6th 2013
by Random House BFYR
She thought the evil lived outside the walls.
She was wrong.
In the Community, life seems perfect. The members of this isolated suburban development have thrived under Pioneer, the charismatic leader who saved them from their sad, damaged lives.
Lyla Hamilton and her parents moved here following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, looking to escape the evil in the world. Now seventeen, Lyla knows certain facts are not to be questioned:
Pioneer is her leader.
Will is her Intended.
The end of the world is near.Like Noah before him, Pioneer has been told of the imminent destruction of humanity. He says his chosen must arm themselves and prepare to fight off the unchosen people, who will surely seek refuge in the compound’s underground fortress–the Silo.
Lyla loves her family and friends, but given the choice, she prefers painting to target practice. And lately she’d rather think about a certain boy outside the development than plan for married life in the Silo with Will. But as the end of days draws near, she will have to pick up a gun, take a side, and let everyone know where she stands.

AMY CHRISTINE PARKER earned her degree in elementary education at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, and then proceeded to try out many different jobs, including collectible doll maker, fondue waitress, and inner-city schoolteacher. It wasn’t until she became a mom and began making up bedtime stories for her children that she finally realized what she was meant to do. Now Amy writes full-time from her home near Tampa, Florida, where she lives with her husband, their two daughters, and one ridiculously fat cat. Her first novel, GATED, debuts with Random House Children’s August 6, 2013.

Both on Amazon and The Book Depository it only releases on August 6th. This release is for the paperback though I think the ebook might have been published in March or earlier this year at least.

Sam @ Realm of Fiction
I’ve heard great things about North of Nowhere (I think it came out in the UK a while ago), but haven’t had a chance to read it yet. I’m also super curious about The Ghost Bride! It sounds different and like my sort of book. Thanks for sharing, Giselle. π
Alexia @ Adventures in Reading
Gated looks like something I need to have in my bookshelf as soon as possible. I am actually reading an ARC of Maya Banks’ Burn right now. Was hoping to have it done before its release.Oh well.
Megan

Alisa Selene
Love the cover of infinityglass!
Aneeqah @ My Not So Real Life
Some interesting books here! I’m looking forward to reading Gated, even though I’ve seen some mixed reviews for it. Infinityglass’s cover is GORGEOUS, and that reminds me that I need to pick up the second book of that series. Same goes for The Uprising, with the Forsaken. And I had no idea that there was a City of Bones graphic novel… O_o
Thanks for sharing, Giselle! <3
Pili
I’ve been thinking of getting Gated, still a bit on the fence after some reviews, even if it sound like a great book!
I can’t wait for Biting Bad, Infinityglass and Grave Visions, I have them all preordered!
Savannah
Why do so many awesome books come out when I’m broke due my son going back to school? I spent most of my money on school supplies and such.
Micheline @ Lunar Rainbows
*groan* now they have Mortal Instruments graphic novels?! Man, hasn’t that cash cow bled dry yet?!? *rolls eyes* Anyways… sweetness, there are a lot of new books out this week O.O I have been meaning to get into the Alex Craft series, at some point. Soon. -Ish. You also have some new MG-looking reads there that I’ll be checking out when I finish commenting (Land of Stories series and North Nowhere) Hmmm The Crown Tower kinda looks like my type of high-fantasy reads too! Thanks G
Jennifer @ Some Like It Paranormal
Gated is new to me so I’ll have to check that out. Excited for Timepiece, Elegy, and Here Without You even though I am behind on those series.
