Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

My pick this week:

Waiting on Wednesday (89)The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer E. Smith
Published by Little Brown BfYR on April 15th 2014
Genres: Contemporary, YA
Goodreads

Lucy and Owen meet somewhere between the tenth and eleventh floors of a New York City apartment building, on an elevator rendered useless by a citywide blackout. After they're rescued, they spend a single night together, wandering the darkened streets and marveling at the rare appearance of stars above Manhattan. But once the power is restored, so is reality. Lucy soon moves to Edinburgh with her parents, while Owen heads out west with his father.

Lucy and Owen's relationship plays out across the globe as they stay in touch through postcards, occasional e-mails, and -- finally -- a reunion in the city where they first met.

A carefully charted map of a long-distance relationship, Jennifer E. Smith's new novel shows that the center of the world isn't necessarily a place. It can be a person, too.

I’ve enjoyed every book I’ve read by this Jennifer E. Smith so far. They’re feel-good, happy-making books, and a little fairy-tale-ish, and always super sweet, and I adore the fun cover! Yep!

These covers, goodness! They are to die for! The Statistical was just okay for me and I have’t read This is What Happy Looks Like, but I’m still looking forward to this one. Lovely pick, Giselle!

Yes! I didn’t love THE STATISTICAL PROBABILITY OF LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT, but I really liked THIS IS WHAT HAPPY LOOKS LIKE. And this one just sounds so cute! I can’t wait to read it!

  4. Jennifer @ Some Like It Paranormal

I’ve only read The Statistical Probability Of Love At First Sight and This Is What Happy Looks Like so far but loved them both so I am excited for this one and to read her older books when I get a chance. They do all have such cute covers and also long titles! LOL

This sounds like a cute book, and I love the idea of them exchanging postcards and letters and the like to stay in touch. I need to add this to my own list of books I want to read! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  8. Sam @ Realm of Fiction

I’ve only read one book by this author, and although I wasn’t completely impressed, I did still enjoy it overall. I’ll definitely check this one out! I didn’t realise the cover had been revealed. It looks amazing. 🙂 Great pick, Giselle.

  9. Christina @ Christina Reads YA

I was actually only recently made aware of this novel and lovelovelove it already. I haven’t read her latest novel, but it sounds like this one is a mesh of her two contemporaries. Either way, so looking forward to her feel-good stories! STATISTICAL PROBABILITY was so cute and so what I needed when I read it.

PS – The cover was revealed recently, yeah? Can I say how much I admire your HTML skills that you’re able to have that 3D image of the book and do it *so* well?

That cover is too adorable. I never got around to reading This is What Happy Looks Like but I did read The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight and it was a super fluffy and cute read. Will have to pick this one up… really like the sound of it. 🙂
