In My Mailbox (4)

Posted by

“In My Mailbox” is a meme, created by Kristi at The Story Siren, that features books I’ve received/purchased/borrowed during the current week.

Hi guys! Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians! We’re having our turkey dinner tomorrow and I can’t wait to eat some stuffing. It’s one of my favorite foods ever and I only get to eat it a couple times a year. Anyways, enough of my dull eating habits, here’s my mailbox.

I have received for review (click for Goodreads synopsis):

I have bought:

I want to thank P.T Michelle, Marta Acosta, Amy Lunderman, St.Martin’s Press and Simon & Schuster for the review copies.

That’s it (and enough) for me for this week. I’ve heard great reviews of the 3 books I bought so I’m really excited to finally have them on hand. I haven’t actually read (or bought) the first installment in the Heroes of Olympus series (yes, bad shopping habits, tsk tsk) yet, but I know I won’t be disappointed so I figured it was a safe buy. Also, I love the cover of the Name of the Star. It’s all shiny in real life! =D

What gems have you gotten this week?

Brightest Kind of Darkness looks interesting, I hadn’t heard of that one. The Night Circus and The Name of the Star – I am hoping to get my hands on those soon! My IMM would look really dull. 😛 Just a couple of new books (Mara, Lola), and a few older books I bought as gifts for my sister. (Delirium, Maze Runner)

  2. Lindsey (A Storm of Words)

Ooh, happy thanksgiving to you too! I love this holiday because it’s one of the only times of the year that my family eats stuffing as well! Anyways, some great titles (and gorgeous covers) this week! I really want to read The Pledge and while I haven’t yet read The Lost Hero, it’s great to know there’s already a second book out in the series!

    My IMM is here 🙂

I really want to read The Night Circus, The Pledge and Dark Companion!! Even though I thought the Name of the Star was average, I’d love to purchase a copy just for the cover!!
    Happy Reading 🙂

I’m a little bit jealous that you got a review copy of Dark Companion. This sounds sooo great. I got Brightest Kind of Darkness and The Pledge waiting for me, too. 🙂 And I really loved The Name of the Star and will get a copy of The Night Circus soon, which I won in a giveaway. 🙂

I hope you enjoy all of these,

Hey Giselle! Thanks for stopping by to comment on my IMM!

I really want Son of Neptune like right now, but my ban doesn’t allow me sadly. And The Pledge; I cannot wait until I read that book. Dystopia love!

And OMG! If I knew the US Hardback for The Night Circus had that shimmer to the curls then I would have gotten that and liked it more. But I liked the UK cover more. 😛

    Enjoy the books 🙂

    Braiden.

Oh dear, oh dear. You have The Night Circus too. I just borrowed Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke from our library to literally stop me in my tracks from purchasing more books than I can read. But The night Circus is just tempting tempting tempting me. I’d probably buy the book before the week is out. I have that feeling.

  35. A Backwards Story

For your reviews, I’ve only heard of THE PLEDGE (obviously, since I have that IMM, too, lol!) I love love love that you bought those three books. I’m absolutely smitten with THE NIGHT CIRCUS, which is definitely on my Top 15 all-time list. I really enjoyed THE SON OF NEPTUNE, too, and need the third book already! I haven’t gotten my hands on THE NAME OF THE STAR yet, but I really want to, especially since Maureen Johnson went to a local hs!

I totally don’t blame you for snagging NEPTUNE now while it’s cheap. I think the first book is coming out in a week or so in pb anyway, and maybe you can get a good used deal on a hc if you prefer your books to match (I know I do, lol)

  36. chelleyreads

All the books’ covers are lovely. I haven’t heard of any of them except The Name of the Star and Night Circus. Though I am excited about those two books and will have to check the others you have there.

    Great post and happy reading:)
