Dusty Reads (7)

Posted by

Dusty Reads is a weekly meme, hosted here, featuring a book that has been sitting unread on our home shelf for some time. To participate, add your link at the bottom.
If you wish, you can grab the button and find more information here.

My pick this week:
The Iron King
(Iron Fey, #1)
Julie Kagawa
Released February 1st, 2010
by Harlequin Teen

Meghan Chase has a secret destiny; one she could never have imagined.
Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan’s life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school or at home.
When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she’s known is about to change.
But she could never have guessed the truth – that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she’ll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face; and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.

Since the Iron Knight – book 4 in the series – has just come out, I figured it was time to admit that although I have the first three books on my home shelf, I haven’t picked it up yet. I didn’t even know it was so popular until a month ago when I started seeing everyone talking about the new release. I had bought this on Kijiji (Canadian’s Craigslist) because it was cheap and it looked promising. I’m glad I did, though because I definitely want to read them soon.

The Iron Fey series includes:

I’ve only read the first two in this series, but I really enjoyed them both. I probably enjoyed Iron Daughter more than Iron King. I’ve been hearing a lot about Iron Knight recently as well. They are very popular among the book world!

  2. Sarah

I haven’t read these either, but with all the raving I’ve heard about The Iron Knight, I desperately want to!

Think I’ll pick them up from the library 🙂

Must read. This series is so amazing, it’s the whole reason I got pulled out of secondary world fantasy and back into the world of YA and romance. Which is about everything I read these days…

    Hope you’ll enjoy this!

These are sitting in my Dusty Reads pile too. Though, I plan on starting to read them in the next week or two as I’m reviewing the whole series at teh end of December.

I’ve heard excellent things about the series so I’m looking forward to it.
