Deadly Hemlock

UK cover

Mackenzie and Amy were best friends. Until Amy was brutally murdered.
Since then, Mac’s life has been turned upside down. She is being haunted by Amy in her dreams, and an extremist group called the Trackers has come to Mac’s hometown of Hemlock to hunt down Amy’s killer: A white werewolf.
Lupine syndrome—also known as the werewolf virus—is on the rise across the country. Many of the infected try to hide their symptoms, but bloodlust is not easy to control.
Wanting desperately to put an end to her nightmares, Mac decides to investigate Amy’s murder herself. She discovers secrets lurking in the shadows of Hemlock, secrets about Amy’s boyfriend, Jason, her good pal Kyle, and especially her late best friend. Mac is thrown into a maelstrom of violence and betrayal that puts her life at risk.
Kathleen Peacock’s thrilling novel is the first in the Hemlock trilogy, a spellbinding urban fantasy series filled with provocative questions about prejudice, trust, lies, and love.
Whitley Johnson’s dream summer with her divorce dad has turned into a nightmare. She’s just met his new fiancee and her kids. The fiancee’s son? Whitley’s one-night stand from graduation night. Just freakin’ great.
Worse, she totally doesn’t fit in with her dad’s perfect new country-club family. So Whitley acts out. She parties. Hard. So hard she doesn’t even notice the good things right under her nose: a sweet little future stepsister who is just about the only person she’s ever liked, a best friend (even though Whitley swears she doesn’t “do” friends), and a smoking-hot guy who isn’t her stepbrother…at least, not yet. It will take all three of them to help Whitley get through her anger and begin to put the pieces of her family together.
Filled with authenticity and raw emotion, Whitley is Kody Keplinger’s most compelling character to date: a cynical Holden Caulfield-esque girl you will wholly care about.

Blake is gone.
He sacrificed himself to save Winter, leaving her alone, unprotected… hunted.

In the gathering darkness, the enemy of an enemy is not always a friend, and Winter must find the strength to stand alone and fight for the one she loves. For she is the key to unlocking the secrets beyond the veil of shadows.
And she is Blake’s only hope.

Hi, Giselle! WOW. These covers are just AMAZING. Book jacket artists and designers are just getting better and better!! I especially love the cover for “Winter’s Light”!! I adore the cover for “Winter’s Shadow”, and thought the book was fantastic! I’m really looking forward to the sequel, and think that the model’s red hair has a lot to do with the awesomeness of both covers!! (Although my favorite is the one for “Winter’s Shadow”, because of all the blue…lol.)
Thanks for sharing!! Happy Friday!! : )

Thanks ladies.
@Maria: I’m jealous you got to read Winter’s Shadow. I can’t get it here in Canada unless I’m willing to pay a fortune.
@Maji: I agree this seems very different from her other novels! Can’t wait for the blurb!

I just posted my review for My Beating Teenage Heart by C.K. Kelly Martin, and considering how much I enjoyed that I’ll definitely have to keep an eye on Yesterday. As for A Midsummer’s Nightmare, I’m a huge fan of Kody Keplinger’s previous books so that’s an absolute must-read for me. So glad to see it has a cover now. 🙂
Amy
Wow those are all really great covers. The one for Yesterday is fantastic. Without even knowing what it’s about I want to read it. I like the US cover for Hemlock better, but the UK one still nice.
Melissa (Books and Things)
