My pick this week:

The Lying Game
Sara Shepard
Release date: December 7th, 2010
by HarperTeen

Goodreads / Purchase

I had a life anyone would kill for.
Then someone did.

The worst part of being dead is that there’s nothing left to live for. No more kisses. No more secrets. No more gossip. It’s enough to kill a girl all over again. But I’m about to get something no one else does—an encore performance, thanks to Emma, the long-lost twin sister I never even got to meet.

Now Emma’s desperate to know what happened to me. And the only way to figure it out is to be me—to slip into my old life and piece it all together. But can she laugh at inside jokes with my best friends? Convince my boyfriend she’s the girl he fell in love with? Pretend to be a happy, carefree daughter when she hugs my parents good night? And can she keep up the charade, even after she realizes my murderer is watching her every move?

Let the lying game begin.

This premise sounds really interesting, right? I was reading Sara’s Pretty Little Liars series when I noticed she had also written this so I ordered it and then, well, left it sitting on my shelf.  Have you read this series yet?

I read that book! I’ve read all of her books, actually. (I have a review of “Twisted” on my blog). They’re so much fun. I always read them in a few hours, they’re very easy but so creepy!

I got the first two books of the Lying Game for Christmas; and I really want to read them. My little sister (she’s 22, so not so little *lol* ) loves them and keeps telling me to read them. Guess I’ll finally have to!

  3. Amy

I never got into the Pretty Little Liars. I heard that both the PLL series and The Lying game are really good. Hope you enjoy!

  4. Rebecca

Ohh, great pick! I’m definitely curious about this one. I keep seeing it around but haven’t dared picking it up yet for some reason, lol.

  5. Elodie

I’ve had the first book in the Pretty Little Liars series sitting on my shelves for ages .. I hope I’ll find some time to read it soon .. 🙂 !!
I’d love to read The Lying Game as well !!

Haven’t read this, but I just started watching the show! both Pretty Little Liars and The Lying Game are addicting shows!

Pft! So I commented earlier that I hadn’t read this book…uh, guess that’s how forgetful it is. I reread my review of it and gave it a 2/5 because of the ending and the fact that I didn’t care about any of the characters I was reading about.

I’ve read this one. It was fun, but kinda instantly forgettable. I was interested to see where the series would go, but I haven’t yet picked up the next book, so I guess I didn’t LOVE it. It’s fun though – a guilty pleasure. I haven’t seen the TV series either, but I’m tempted to check it out!
