3 years, 1 month, 1 week and 6 days since I’d seen daylight. One-fifth of my life.

Sherry and her family have lived sealed in a bunker in the garden since things went wrong up above. Her grandfather has been in the freezer for the last three months, her parents are at each other’s throats and two minutes ago they ran out of food.

Sherry and her father leave the safety of the bunker and find a devastated and empty LA, smashed to pieces by bombs and haunted by ‘Weepers’ – rabid humans infected with a weaponized rabies virus.

While searching for food in a supermarket, Sherry’s father disappears and Sherry is saved by Joshua, a boy-hunter. He takes her to Safe-haven, a tumble-down vineyard in the hills outside LA, where a handful of other survivors are picking up the pieces of their ‘other lives’. As she falls in love for the first time, Sherry must save her father, stay alive and keep Joshua safe when his desire for vengeance threatens them all.

You’d think being a privileged Prince in a vast intergalactic Empire would be about as good as it gets. But it isn’t as great as it sounds. For one thing, Princes are always in danger. Their greatest threat? Other Princes.

When Kitty Tylney’s best friend, Catherine Howard, worms her way into King Henry VIII’s heart and brings Kitty to court, she’s thrust into a world filled with fabulous gowns, sparkling jewels, and elegant parties.

With forever friend Kat, a battered copy of Kerouac’s DHARMA BUMS, and a car with a dodgy oil filter, the girls set out on an epic road trip across the USA. Maybe somewhere along the way they’ll prove or disprove the existence of God. Maybe they’ll even get laid . . .

I haven’t heard of the Weepers before, but it sounds great. (: I love zombie books!

And I’m also excited for Code Name Verity. Looks like a good read!

  2. Carina

After seeing these posts my bank account always wants to murder me since they make me want to buy so many books. 😀 (Especially when they remind me that I totally forgot to pre-order things… e.g. GILT. Aaaaargh.)

  3. Amy

I still have to read The Weepers…after I read 3 other books first. *sigh* I hate being behind. I got an invite widget to read Code Name Verity, but didn’t except it since I am falling behind. From What I Remember sounds really entertaining. Thanks for sharing hon!!

  4. Nicola

The Weepers/The Other Life was really good! I actually have both Torn and Code Name Verity on my Kindle but I have neglected them. I’ll have to get to them this month. 😀

I like the sound of Gilt. For some reason I feel like it’s a book that’s been out forever but maybe it just has a similar cover to something else.

  5. Kathy Ann Coleman

Finally, I catch a break! The last few weeks have been *expensive* but I don’t really see anything this go around that’s going “Buy me now, Kat! Buy me now!” Maybe it *will* be safe to buy a new art program this week. Hmm…

  6. Jen

Wow there are so many amazing looking titles on this list! I’ve been meaning to get around to The Weepers/The Other Life (think I have a NetGalley?) And Code Name Verity was ASTOUNDINGLY good. Also really want to pick up Gilt. I’ve heard good things 🙂

  7. Busy Bookblogger
