Lisa M. Stasse

Release date: August 2nd 2012

Alenna Shawcross is a sixteen-year-old orphan growing up in a police state formed from the ashes of Canada, the US and Mexico after a global economic meltdown.

But when she unexpectedly fails ‘the test’ – a government initiative which supposedly identifies teens destined to be criminals – she wakes up alone on a remote island reserved for the criminally insane.

Terrified and confused, she soon encounters a group of other teen survivors battling to stay alive, including Luis, a boy who will become her love… and her lifeline.

Soon Alenna makes the terrifying discovery that there’s more to the island (and her past) than she could ever have guessed… But who can she trust? And can she ever escape?

Awesome giveaway! I love the trailer for this one and can’t wait to read it. I like both covers, the UK one is very “Hunger Games” so I think I like the US one better because it’s much more unique.

  2. Camille Picott

I love the US cover! At first I thought it was a new cover for The Hunger Games. 🙂 I love Lost (or at least the first few seasons) so I will definitely keep an eye out for this. Looking forward to reading your review!

  3. Natalie (Mindful Musings)

I’m reading this one right now, and it’s interesting so far! I really like the US cover. The other one feels a little bit like it’s trying too hard to pick up on The Hunger Games hype, you know?

  4. Catherine@thebookparade

I absolutely LOVE the sound of this book! I quite like the UK cover, bu doesn’t it look a bit like it could be an alternative cover for the Hunger Games? The girl on the cover so looks like Katniss! I probably prefer the US cover…but only by a bit! Thank you for the giveaway 🙂

  5. Angie

Thanks for the giveaway! I kinda think the UK cover is prettier than the US cover. Although it does remind me of the Hunger Games….
