Waiting on Wednesday (44)

Posted by

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
My pick this week:

The Murmurings

Carly Anne West
Release date: March 5th, 2013
by Simon Pulse

After her older sister dies from an apparent suicide and her body is found hanging upside down by one toe from a tree, sixteen-year-old Sophie starts to hear the same voices that drove her sister to a psychotic break.

DID YOU SEE THIS!!!! Holy frack balls this cover freaks me out. Love! It! (The Grudge, anybody? That movie scared me FOR LIFE!). Anything about hearing voices, unexplained freaky, and psychological creepiness – WANT so hard!!

PS: Tagline says “The voices in her head are not her own…”

What did you pick this week?

Oh hells yeah that is wicked! I’m totally freaked by her dead-eye stare. And the description. Totally creepy. I have to see what that tagline says.

And yeah, totally like The Grude. I can’t look away. That stare will be following me all night. I’m adding this one and now am totally waiting on it!

THIS SOUNDS EPIC! Wow my fav WoW pick to date. And I totally agree about The Grudge! I still dream about that movie, so freaking scary. The cover is creeptastic, fantastic pick hot stuff!

  3. Aylee

Eek, I’m so not a fan of scary movies! But… for whatever reason, I tend to like horror novels much more, even if they’re just as scary – doesn’t make much sense to me either. So yes, I’ll definitely be adding this one to my tbr now – thanks! Also: LOVE the cover!

YES YES YES PLEASE! This one looks FANTASTIC. Super creepy toe hanging goodness to the 100th degree!

I can’t take scary movies, but I will take scary reading ANY DAY. Thanks for sharing this new one, which will obviously be added to my TBR!

  5. Tabitha

That cover does scream The Grudge! And this book sounds really interesting. I’m usually not into books like this one, but I might just have to make an exception.

    MY WOW

  6. Janina

That really does look a little creepy … but in books, I can deal with that. I’ve never heard of the Grudge (should I?), but that’s probably due to the fact that I make a wide berth around horror(ish) movies ;).

    Here is my WoW.

Dude, this sounds awesomesauce!! That is one freaky cover too!! I swear I am going to start a goodreads shelf titled “Books that I added because of Giselle”. Lol!! This one sounds like a book I will really enjoy!!

  9. Chapter by Chapter

I so want this! And yes…Totally reminds me of the grudge. I used to freak my sister out all the time by hiding in a corner and flipping my hair over my face when she’d come over to visit. I need this book, like, NOW! Great pick =D Thanks for sharing!

That sounds so CREEPY and AWESOME, Giselle. Seriously, I am in awe of you. I don’t know how you always manage to find a balls-awesome book WITH a cover that I’ve never heard of for your WoWs. You are like a WoW Jedi or something.
