Waiting on Wednesday (59)

Posted by

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
My pick this week:

The End Games

T. Michael Martin
Release date: May 7th 2013
 by HarperCollins

It happened on Halloween.

The world ended.

And a dangerous Game brought it back to life.

Seventeen-year-old Michael and his five-year-old brother, Patrick, have been battling monsters in The Game for weeks.

In the rural mountains of West Virginia, armed with only their rifle and their love for each other, the brothers follow Instructions from the mysterious Game Master. They spend their days searching for survivors, their nights fighting endless hordes of “Bellows”—creatures that roam the dark, roaring for flesh. And at this Game, Michael and Patrick are very good.

But The Game is changing.

The Bellows are evolving.

The Game Master is leading Michael and Patrick to other survivors—survivors who don’t play by the rules.

And the brothers will never be the same.

Eh!! Isn’t this just the creepiest cover ever? And it sounds so *looks at cover*… eeek! I love it!

I first focused on the bottom part of the cover and though ‘What’s creepy about that’ and then I saw the top half. I literally got the chills. 😀 * looks at cover again* Yep here it is again. If I don’t have any bad dreams tonight I will come back tomorrow and thank you for picking this book. 😛

This sounds totally creepy and mysterious! I almost don’t know what to think. It’s kind of open-ended, but in an intriguing way! I’ll definitely keep my eye on this one! Thanks for sharing Giselle!

That cover alone would be enough for me to pick up that book – I love that the trees turn into something on both the top and the bottom. (I do also like the book’s blurb, too.)

    Love your ‘Halloween’-y pick
