Fresh Batch (January 6th – 12th)

Exclusively titled for Xpresso Reads, Fresh Batch features the hottest releases of this upcoming week.

Flavor of the week:
Kate Brian
Publication date: January 8th 2013
by Hyperion

Rory Miller had one chance to fight back and she took it. Rory survived… and the serial killer who attacked her escaped. Now that the infamous Steven Nell is on the loose, Rory must enter the witness protection with her father and sister, Darcy, leaving their friends and family without so much as a goodbye.

Starting over in a new town with only each other is unimaginable for Rory and Darcy. They were inseparable as children, but now they can barely stand each other. As the sisters settle in to Juniper Landing, a picturesque vacation island, it seems like their new home may be just the fresh start they need. They fall in with a group of beautiful, carefree teens and spend their days surfing, partying on the beach, and hiking into endless sunsets. But just as they’re starting to feel safe again, one of their new friends goes missing. Is it a coincidence? Or is the nightmare beginning all over again?

Kate Brian is the prolific author of many books for teens including the Private series, the new Privilege series, and Sweet 16. She lives with her husband in New Jersey. She writes under the pseudonym Kate Brian, instead of using her real name: Kieran Scott.

This has got to be my favorite book release week in a looong time! Probably since I started my blog and started keeping track of book releases! So many books I want to read… especially Shadowlands, Then You Were Gone, Anatomy of a Single Girl, The Tragedy Paper, man so many 🙂

What is it with Jan. and so many awesome books!! That happened last year too. And OMG the books coming out the last two weeks of Jan… so many good ones. I just finished Broken and I have the Cadet of Tildor to read. Can’t wait for Just Breathe!! I have been pestering Kendall about it. Love that series. The only other ones this week I really really want are Doomed, Paper Valentine, and Just one Day. And Shadowlands lol!! Ahhhh so many great books!!

So I feel ALL THE BOOKS come out on January 8th or something! I’m absolutely dying for Through the Ever Night, that’s one of the few books I have on pre-order. I hope that I love it. After seeing so many glowing reviews of Shadowlands, I’m also super excited to pick that one up as well! Same goes for Paper Valentine. The Tragedy Paper also looks like a unique contemporary, and I’m excited to read some reviews of that one.

    Thanks for sharing Giselle! <3

That’s a lot of awesome releases in one week!! My TBR pile is going to be at least 2 books heavier by the end of the week as I’m getting Shadowlands and Rise for sure. Thanks for putting the fresh batch list together, Giselle! Have an awesome weekend 🙂

When I read the synopsis of Shadowlands, it really didn’t appeal to me. After reading your review of it though, I added it to my to-read pile. Hope it’s a hidden gem!

Holy WOW – there are TONS of new releases this week!! I SO want to read Cleopatra Ascending…it was on Netgalley but I got declined 🙁 I also really want to read The Cadet of Tildor & the 13th Sign! Oh, and your review for Shadowland made me want to read it but I’m too chicken to risk it HAHA >.<
