Exclusively titled for Xpresso Reads, Fresh Batch features the hottest releases of this upcoming week.

Flavor of the week:
Mila 2.0
Debra Driza
Series: Mila 2.0, #1
Genre:YA Dystopian
Publication date: March 12th 2013
by Katherine Tegen Books

Mila 2.0 is the first book in an electrifying sci-fi thriller series about a teenage girl who discovers that she is an experiment in artificial intelligence.

Mila was never meant to learn the truth about her identity. She was a girl living with her mother in a small Minnesota town. She was supposed to forget her past —that she was built in a secret computer science lab and programmed to do things real people would never do.

Now she has no choice but to run—from the dangerous operatives who want her terminated because she knows too much and from a mysterious group that wants to capture her alive and unlock her advanced technology. However, what Mila’s becoming is beyond anyone’s imagination, including her own, and it just might save her life.

Mila 2.0 is Debra Driza’s bold debut and the first book in a Bourne Identity–style trilogy that combines heart-pounding action with a riveting exploration of what it really means to be human. Fans of I Am Number Four will love Mila for who she is and what she longs to be—and a cliffhanger ending will leave them breathlessly awaiting the sequel.

I’m a wife, a mom, a dog lover, a writer, a physical therapist, and the owner of the messiest purses on the planet. No, really. Sometimes I worry that I’ll reach inside for my keys and lose a hand in the process. My YA thriller series debuts in Fall 2012 with Katherine Tegen Books/Harper Collins. Oh, and when I grow up, I want to be Veronica Mars.

I really liked Mila 2.0 and Poison, and I can’t wait to read Pretty Sly and Trinkets. So many fab releases this week! Thanks for sharing 🙂

  2. Amy

Wow, so many books this week. Fortunately, not really anything I really want. I will eventually get myself a finished copy of Mila because I really liked it, and Strands of Bronze and Gold sounds good. Ohh I do want to read Poison. I heard it’s really awesome!!

  3. Sam

So many gorgeous covers! I’m not buying anything new at the moment, but Strands of Bronze and Gold has my attention. The reviews have been pretty good so far so I’ll definitely have to save it for later. I’m curious about Surfacing and Dark Tide, too. Thanks for sharing, lovely! 🙂

Imitation sounds neat and of course I want to read Poison and Mila 2.0 however the one I’m sorta the most excited about is The Lords Of Salem but I’m going to hold off until May so I can get a copy signed by Rob Zombie from Texas Frightmare!

  5. Ems

Strands of Bronze and Gold and Poison are on my must-buy list…other than that, I’m not really excited about anything this week. Might be a first – only having two books I need!

  6. Silverlight

Crap, I totally need to write a review for Poison. I liked it, and felt it fits the Disney Family line. Not, too spectacular of a week, just meh. Thanks!

Another big week of books for me. March always seems to be loaded up with releases I want and I kinda hate it because I can’t get them all at once. Hell, I can’t get any of them right now.

Surfacing, Poison, Starstruck, The Menagerie, A Tale for the Time Being…

MILA 2.0!!! I wants it precious, I wants it now!! That goes double for Poison! *wipes drool off chin* I was starting to get into the idea of Strands of Bronze & Gold…but then I saw some less than glowing reviews and now I’m kinda scared haha. The Menagerie & Fate 7 Fury look awesome too 😀
