They have tried to squeeze us out, to stamp us into the past.

But we are still here.

And there are more of us every day.

Now an active member of the resistance, Lena has been transformed. The nascent rebellion that was under way in Pandemonium has ignited into an all-out revolution in Requiem, and Lena is at the center of the fight.

After rescuing Julian from a death sentence, Lena and her friends fled to the Wilds. But the Wilds are no longer a safe haven—pockets of rebellion have opened throughout the country, and the government cannot deny the existence of Invalids. Regulators now infiltrate the borderlands to stamp out the rebels, and as Lena navigates the increasingly dangerous terrain, her best friend, Hana, lives a safe, loveless life in Portland as the fiancée of the young mayor.

Maybe we are driven crazy by our feelings.

Maybe love is a disease, and we would be better off without it.

But we have chosen a different road.

And in the end, that is the point of escaping the cure: We are free to choose.

We are even free to choose the wrong thing.

Requiem is told from both Lena’s and Hana’s points of view. The two girls live side by side in a world that divides them until, at last, their stories converge.

The Delirium series:

Lauren Oliver comes from a family of writers and so has always (mistakenly) believed that spending hours in front of the computer every day, mulling over the difference between “chortling” and “chuckling,” is normal. She has always been an avid reader.

She attended the University of Chicago, where she continued to be as impractical as possible by majoring in philosophy and literature. After college, she attended the MFA program at NYU and worked briefly as the world’s worst editorial assistant, and only marginally better assistant editor, at a major publishing house in New York. Her major career contributions during this time were flouting the corporate dress code at every possible turn and repeatedly breaking the printer. Before I Fall is her first published novel.

Luckily I’ve already read most of the books that I want to from this batch. Let The Sky Fall, Requiem, The Murmurings, The Nightmare Affair, and When We Wake! I just learned about Bruised and I’m now interested in that and maybe I’ll try Unremembered.

Wow great start to the month for sure. I’m really excited for quite a few. The Turncoat,Orleans,Thirst#5,The Demonologist, Requiem, Let The Sky Fall. I have a couple of the others as Arcs so will read those first. I really need to start The Virals series by Kathy Reich’s love her writing.

  3. Amy

Wow that’s a lot of books. Surprisingly there’s none that I really really want that I don’t already have. My copy of Dear Cassie shipped yesterday, and I got a surprise package in the mail with Requiem The Delirium Stories, and Spellcaster. All the rest of the ones that interest me I have read or have to read. I will probably get Flirting With Maybe though.

Merp there are so many books coming out this coming week! I’m SUPER excited about Requiem and When We Wake! Seriously, that cover with the pale face and the lips with like that sugar/salt thing on them FREAKS ME OUT.

But not as much as The Murmurings! That book has a SERIOUSLY creepy cover. O_O

Orleans seemed like it was going to be an interesting read, but unfortunately I couldn’t get past the weird dialogue. I was looking forward Murmurings, but I’ve heard mixed thing so I’m not sure if I’ll be picking it up. And I was quite disappointed with TNA and Unremembered. Seems like this weeks release are just not meant for me, ha! xD

Well, isn’t that a huge haul! I’m excited for Let the Sky Fall. I’ve heard great things about it. That’s the only book I really want.

  7. haruscorner

Wow, there are some I forgot that would be release this week. I think the one that I’m most excited for is Requiem to be out. I cannot wait to read how that series would end.

So many books I want this week: The Murmurings, Orleans, Spellcaster, When We Wake, The Holders…why does it seem like I want ALL the books when I can least afford it?

  9. Silverlight

RECKLESS!!!! YAY! I already picked it up from my Barnes & Noble, I’ll be tearing into that puppy, tonight!! The Wild Ones is on my pile, too, I kind of like the old cover for it, a little bit more.

SO many books have been coming out in big chunks lately! Wow. I really need to get off my ass and read my copy of Delirium. Reading The Nightmare Affair now and I’m really enjoying it so far – I’ll be checking out your review once I’m done I’m sure. Holders is my next read after that. I love seeing a Warriors title on here even though I’m not into the series as much as I used to >.< I want to read Legacy of the Clockwork Key & A Conspiracy of Alchemists too!! Yikes a lot of good ones this week. AND new ones cause I'd never seen Phoenix Girls but I'm off to check it out now 😀 Thanks Giselle!
