The Shadow Girl
Jennifer Arche
Publication date: April 9th 2013
by HarperTeen

Sometimes I forget for an hour or two that she’s with me. Sometimes I convince myself that she was only a dream. Or that I’m crazy.

For as long as Lily Winston can remember, she has never been alone. Iris, a shadowy figure who mimics Lily’s movements and whispers in her ear, is with her always—but invisible to the rest of the world. Iris is Lily’s secret.

But when Lily’s father is killed in a tragic accident, his cryptic final words suggest that he and Lily’s mother have been keeping secrets of their own. Suddenly, Iris begins pushing Lily more than ever, possessing her thoughts and urging her to put together the pieces of a strange puzzle her father left behind. As she searches for answers, Lily finds herself drawn to Ty Collier, a mysterious new boy in town. Together, Lily and Ty must untangle a web of deception to discover the truth about her family, Iris . . . and Lily’s own identity

At the age of ten, Jennifer Archer made up her mind to become a writer. Then she grew up, became “sensible,” and earned a business degree with a minor in accounting instead. After years of trying to find her way through a confusing maze of debits and credits she realized that, for her, accounting was no more sensible than becoming a World Federation wrestler. So in 1993, she enrolled in a creative writing class, and five years later, sold her first novel. Since then, Jennifer has published several novels for adults, as well as numerous non-fiction works.

Murder On Olympus? What a great title! I’ll have to check the summary based on that alone. This looks to be a quiet week for me, but that’s okay. There are a few things I’ve wanted for a while that I’ll get instead.

The Shadow Girl was pretty good! In fact, I was surprised by how good it was. Also, I adore Sherrilyn Kenyon’s sense of humor, and Inferno is very high on my list of books I need to read as soon as possible. The audios are actually great for that series.

Dead River sounds really good!! Apollyon!!! Oh how I loved that book. I enjoyed Shadow Girl. I want to read Rump, it looks so fun and cute!

Hmm, the only book I’m particularly interested in this week is THE SHADOW GIRL! I’m gonna go check out the excerpt later, but I’m really looking forward to reading it; it’s been getting plenty of hype. Oh, and I’m really interested in I AM NUMBER FOUR: THE LOST FILES, even though I wasn’t a fan of the Lorien Legacy series. 😛

Apollyon!!! Oh I wish I had the precious in my hands right now…even if it is book 4 and I’m only at 3 LOL And Shadow Girl looks amazing, I can’t wait to see some reviews for it 😀 Moonset could be good too but I’m waiting to see more about it.

    Thanks for sharing these Giselle!

I’m pretty much not interested in any of these books.
I like the sound of The Flame in The Mist though. I’m probably going to wait for my library to get a copy instead of buying it!
    Thanks for sharing, Giselle!

There’s nothing that I’d absolutely die for, but I am definitely interested in reading The Shadow Girl. It seems utterly creepy and totally up my alley!

Thank you as always, Giselle, for going through all the work to put this awesome post together. <3

I seriously freaked out when I saw Date Me, because I HATED the first book, Stalk Me. I guess I should’ve been clued in when I saw that title, but stupid people will be stupid people!

Even if I wasn’t totally crazy for Apollyon, I’m severely in love with that cover, and same for The Shadow Girl! Even though I haven’t read it, the cover is enough to make me want to!

Thanks for sharing! I always meet such awesome new books whenever I see this feature (and reminisce on how much I hated some of the predecessors to other books)
