Flavor of the week:

The Distance Between Us
Kasie West

Publication date: July 2nd, 2013
by Harper Teen

Seventeen-year-old Caymen Meyers studies the rich like her own personal science experiment, and after years of observation she’s pretty sure they’re only good for one thing—spending money on useless stuff, like the porcelain dolls in her mother’s shop.

So when Xander Spence walks into the store to pick up a doll for his grandmother, it only takes one glance for Caymen to figure out he’s oozing rich. Despite his charming ways and that he’s one of the first people who actually gets her, she’s smart enough to know his interest won’t last. Because if there’s one thing she’s learned from her mother’s warnings, it’s that the rich have a short attention span. But Xander keeps coming around, despite her best efforts to scare him off. And much to her dismay, she’s beginning to enjoy his company.

She knows her mom can’t find out—she wouldn’t approve. She’d much rather Caymen hang out with the local rocker who hasn’t been raised by money. But just when Xander’s attention and loyalty are about to convince Caymen that being rich isn’t a character flaw, she finds out that money is a much bigger part of their relationship than she’d ever realized. And that Xander’s not the only one she should’ve been worried about.

I’m excited about The Distance Between Us and Camp Boyfriend. Those are 2 books that I’m definitely buying when they come out next week! Oh hey! Look! Your favorite book of the year is also coming out this week : This is W.A.R! 😛

  2. Sierra

Wow, wonderful haul! I just love the cover of The Distance Between Us, I’m hoping to get it sometime soon 🙂 Definitely excited for Vortex as well, I loved Insignia!

  3. Jenni @ Alluring Reads

The cover for Bad Seeds makes me really sad for some reason, so that has me very curious about it. I can’t believe The Distance Between Us comes out already, I had no idea. Gotta get that one!

  4. Nereyda @Mostly YA Book Obsessed

I have to get This is WAR! 🙂
Okay, call me crazy but I’m so sick of all the covers with half naked guys on them. Can you try a little harder? I read Facade and really liked it although Charade is till my favorite. I really liked Broken at Love and also want to read By Referral Only. Thanks for posting!

  5. Amy

I loved The Distance Between Us and Camp Boyfriend. I have a few of the others to read too. Oh, I need to read Uncharted. I didn’t realize it was already coming out.

  6. Tanja - Tanychy

The Distance Between Us sounds like a great summer read 🙂 I hope that I’ll get to read it soon. Many of these are on my wish-list. I’ve already read The Year of the Great 7th and I was really surprised by it. Great post Giselle 🙂

  7. Melanie

Eh, nothing really exciting that I’m waiting on desperately. But The Distance Between Us and Truly Madly Deadly are some that sound promising. Summery reads in winter are rather ideal, hah.

    Thanks for sharing, Giselle! <33

  8. Micheline D

Well, I definitely WON’T be reading This Is W.A.R. after reading your review LOL You reminded me that there’s a new Warriors book coming out/out, I’d actually forgotten about it >.< I really need to get back into that series for the remaining few books! I don't think there's anything else I'm really into or pumped about…though there are a lot of pretty covers on here 😀

  9. Jaz

Gah I want this so much! I think I pre-ordered it from my bookstore the other day.

I have Pivot Point sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be read.
