Ten years ago, Calamity came. It was a burst in the sky that gave ordinary men and women extraordinary powers. The awed public started calling them Epics.

But Epics are no friend of man. With incredible gifts came the desire to rule. And to rule man you must crush his wills.

Nobody fights the Epics… nobody but the Reckoners. A shadowy group of ordinary humans, they spend their lives studying Epics, finding their weaknesses, and then assassinating them.

And David wants in. He wants Steelheart—the Epic who is said to be invincible. The Epic who killed David’s father. For years, like the Reckoners, David’s been studying, and planning—and he has something they need. Not an object, but an experience.

He’s seen Steelheart bleed. And he wants revenge.

Brandon Sanderson was born in 1975 in Lincoln, Nebraska. As a child Brandon enjoyed reading, but he lost interest in the types of titles often suggested to him, and by junior high he never cracked a book if he could help it. This changed when an eighth grade teacher gave him Dragonsbane by Barbara Hambly.

Brandon was working on his thirteenth novel when Moshe Feder at Tor Books bought the sixth he had written. Tor has published Elantris , the Mistborn trilogy and its followup The Alloy of Law , Warbreaker , and The Way of Kings , the first in the planned ten-volume series The Stormlight Archive. He was chosen to complete Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series; 2009’s The Gathering Storm and 2010’s Towers of Midnight were followed by the final book in the series, A Memory of Light , in January 2013. Four books in his middle-grade Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians series were released by Scholastic, and his novella Infinity Blade Awakening was an ebook bestseller for Epic Games accompanying their acclaimed Infinity Blade iOS video game series. Two more novellas, Legion and The Emperor s Soul , were released by Subterranean Press and Tachyon Publications in 2012, and 2013 brings two young adult novels, The Rithmatist from Tor and Steelheart from Delacorte.

Not A Drop To Drink: LOVE.
The on with the Allegiant-like cover: I NEARLY DIED BECAUSE I THOUGHT THAT THIS WAS RELEASING THIS WEEK INSTEAD OF THE 22ND OF OCTOBER.

I read Ten Tiny Breaths recently and I absolutely loved it ! For some reason I put Bound by Night on hold even though Larissa Ione is one of my favorite authors. I started that one and got bored, so I feel like I’ll just get to it later. And from what I’ve heard Through the Zombie Glass is reallt really good, so I cannot wait to get my hands on it!

  4. Chri @ Fathomless

Eep – there’s so many amazing books releasing this week! I think the ones I’m looking forward to the most is The Falconer, Untold, A Spark Unseen, Shadows, and Where the Stars Still Shine. My shelf’s going to be so full after this – my wallet… not so much xD

  5. Kristin@Blood,Sweat and Books

Steelheart sounds pretty awesome. I do believe this is the first time I’ve heard of it. I’m sorta looking forward to Marie Antionette Serial Killer and of course Fallout. I’ll probably be picking up Inhuman because it was an absolutely awesome read. I think that is about all this batch.

  6. Sam @ Realm of Fiction

I thought Allegiant was coming out this week for a moment there! I nearly panicked. 😉 I’m looking forward to The Falconer and Vicious the most, I think. Both sound brilliant. Thanks for sharing as always, Giselle!

  7. Micheline @ Lunar Rainbows

Flavor of the week: Steelheart = WIN. I wish I could go back in time & re-read it all over again for the first time! I’m starting Vicious next (probably today) but I still wish I could have gotten my hands on Marie Antoinette Serial Killer at BEA! Not a Drop to Drink is another one I want to get my hands on…and same goes for that Dark Unwinding Series! Thanks for sharing G
