He is a Legend.
She is a Prodigy.
Who will be Champion?

June and Day have sacrificed so much for the people of the Republic—and each other—and now their country is on the brink of a new existence. June is back in the good graces of the Republic, working within the government’s elite circles as Princeps Elect while Day has been assigned a high level military position. But neither could have predicted the circumstances that will reunite them once again. Just when a peace treaty is imminent, a plague outbreak causes panic in the Colonies, and war threatens the Republic’s border cities. This new strain of plague is deadlier than ever, and June is the only one who knows the key to her country’s defense. But saving the lives of thousands will mean asking the one she loves to give up everything he has. With heart-pounding action and suspense, Marie Lu’s bestselling trilogy draws to a stunning conclusion.

I write young adult novels, and have a special love for dystopian books. Ironically, I was born in 1984. Before becoming a full-time writer, I was an Art Director at a video game company. Now I shuffle around at home and talk to myself a lot. 🙂

I graduated from the University of Southern California in ’06 and currently live in LA, where I spend my time stuck on the freeways.

  1. Melanie (YA Midnight Reads)

Wow that’s a lot of releases! I got The Trap for review but I haven’t read the first instalments. After Eden looks really good–publishing in Australia in January. And Twimaker or Jump, was pretty average.

    Thanks for sharing, Giselle! <33

  2. Kelsey

There’s nothing I’m really anticipating this week, even though it is a long list! I still have to read Legend before I can go onto Champion too. Have a good week!

  3. Kristin@Blood,Sweat and Books

Oh wow I didn’t realize Spark was coming out. I’ve really enjoyed the Swipe series and I’m sort of curious to see where the story goes. I’m also looking forward to The Trap by Andrew Fukuda and I spot a 3rd Toxic City book but I haven’t read the series yet although I’ve wanted to plus a couple others as well, sigh.

  4. Micheline @ Lunar Rainbows

I can’t remember if you’ve read the Legend Series yet? Or even any of the books? I’ve always really wanted to get into them but for some reason I never end up picking them up, or they lose out to other books >.< And I really was wishing that I would have gotten my hands on Etiquette & Espionage before book 2 came out, since I got that one at BEA but…I didn't *sobs*

I've always been curious about those Ranger's Apprentice books but they're up to SO many now o.O Thanks for sharing the pretties!!

  5. Pili

I always love your Fresh Batch posts because it always remind me of the books I’m excited for and discover some new ones I might have not heard about before!
