Flavor of the week:

The Truth About Alice
Jennifer Mathieu
Publication date: June 3rd 2014
by Roaring Brook Press
Everyone knows Alice slept with two guys at one party. When Healy High star quarterback, Brandon Fitzsimmons, dies in a car crash, it was because he was sexting with Alice. Ask anybody. Rumor has it Alice Franklin is a slut. It’s written all over the “slut stall” in the girls’ bathroom: “Alice had sex in exchange for math test answers” and “Alice got an abortion last semester.” After Brandon dies, the rumors start to spiral out of control. In this remarkable debut novel, four Healy High students tell all they “know” about Alice–and in doing so reveal their own secrets and motivations, painting a raw look at the realities of teen life. But in this novel from Jennifer Mathieu, exactly what is the truth about Alice? In the end there’s only one person to ask: Alice herself.

I hear ya! I’ve spent tons this week on either new releases or series that I just found, or books that I’m just getting now that have been out for a bit, plus I found a deal on a set of make-up brushes to boot. LOL I’m back on a budget again dammit.

So many great releases. The new Lux release omnibuses are horrid though. Gross.

Thanks for these posts, they really guide what I should be reviewing this week. Including Take Back the Skies, The Truth about Alice and Year of the Rat. Thanks for the post GIselle!

Say what you will was amazing, so I can’t get wait to get this pretty finished copy. I’m going to start my eARC of Essence now, I’m curious about this book. Hungry looks interesting 🙂

Looks like a lot of really great books this week. I still need to read a few of them for review. I have been a total fail lately. With work, my allergies raging, and my daughter being a drama queen lately, I’ve been so exhausted and have barely read anything. I need to get back into things.

All I had preordered for this week were the two novellas, Stardawn and The Fear Trials, but I think I might be checking out a few more of the books… I love that you guys have these lists really for us, so we don’t miss any book we might want to read!!
Meredith
Jeez! I didn’t realize that the Pretty Little Liars series was up to 15 books! Holy cow!
