Olivia Mead is a headstrong, independent girl—a suffragist—in an age that prefers its girls to be docile. It’s 1900 in Oregon, and Olivia’s father, concerned that she’s headed for trouble, convinces a stage mesmerist to try to hypnotize the rebellion out of her. But the hypnotist, an intriguing young man named Henri Reverie, gives her a terrible gift instead: she’s able to see people’s true natures, manifesting as visions of darkness and goodness, while also unable to speak her true thoughts out loud. These supernatural challenges only make Olivia more determined to speak her mind, and so she’s drawn into a dangerous relationship with the hypnotist and his mysterious motives, all while secretly fighting for the rights of women. Winters breathes new life into history once again with an atmospheric, vividly real story, including archival photos and art from the period throughout.

Loveee this post! I had no idea that any of these books are coming out this month, so thank you!;) Well now I think I’m personally excited for Snow Like Ashes, Strike, Angelbound (Armageddon), and BZRK (because I bought my brother the first book in the series, and need to get him the rest)!
    Great post,

Oh wow House of Night is on its 12th book. I think I have read the first 5 but then got sucked into other things. I’m tempted to finish the series but we will see when. So many other pretties out there! Why will we never have the time to read them all?

  3. Kristilyn (Reading In Winter)

Neil Patrick Harris! I just saw this book the other day and know I have to get it …. OR listen to the audio. Either way, I’m sure it will be hilarious and awesome. And I’ve preordered My True Love Gave to Me! I hope it comes soon because I’ve heard great things about it! It looks super sweet … it will be the perfect holiday read!
