Epic Cover Battles #11: Bad Book Covers Edition

Posted by

Okay so there are so many pretty covers out there, so many mediocre ones and so many bad ones. This round of Epic Cover Wars is dedicated to the BAD BOOK COVERS because nothing makes a bookworm cringe and reluctant to pick a book up like a bad cover. The more amusing part about this edition is that 2/3 books I’ve chosen are actually traditionally published so I cannot imagine what possessed the publishers to slap on the covers they did onto these books. Here goess!

May the worst book cover win (???)

Rashika has been tired since 2013. There are very few things that spark joy for her besides a nice cup of tea, warm, baked goods, good books and good TV shows. She is here to pile onto your giant TBRs and to-watch lists. Offer her a cookie and she might be nice to you.

Oh god, this is hard. I ended up going with Onio as the worst, mainly because I can see the idea of ‘okay, we’ll have a guy standing looking tough’ for Mercy (even though it sort of failed), and maybe the Zombie Raccoons and Killer Bunnies (???) is supposed to be completely horrible, but the Onio one just seemed to me like it was really trying… and really failed.
But let’s be honest, those are all cringe-worthy. This was a fun post!

Onio just seems like Photoshop gone horribly bad. Like it actually looks like someone cut things out of some photos and slapped them onto a cover.

      Thanks! 🙂
