What I’ve Been Reading: February Update

Posted by

January kind of flew by but I feel like February has felt like it has gone on forever. I did get a lot of reading done but at the same time, I haven’t really wanted to read in the same way I wanted to last month. That might be in part due to the fact that I’ve been stressed out all month and just need something to let up so I can breathe and read. For this upcoming month, I do hope that I will be able to go back to unhauling my backlist TBR.

I read 5 sequels in February (technically more but I am sticking to old series that I started instead of new books.) That’s one less than last month but hey February has less days so not too shabby.

Two of these sequels were really good, one was extremely disappointing and two were mediocre. Also continuing my Ally Carter binge has been FUN and I cannot wait to finish this series and attend my funeral!

This month, I really didn’t read off my backlist that much and it’s kind of sad because I keep thinking about all the books I want to read and I just feel like crap so I don’t read anything. MAYBE I’LL FIX THAT THIS MONTH.

5 to 1 was technically not on my list but it used to be so I AM COUNTING IT. Off the Ice was the only book I DNFed this month and also the only book I’ve DNFed this year… I discovered Lucy Parker this month and my life is forever changed. AND I discovered Lauren Layne but this backlist book I had from 2014 was not the way to go, LOL.

These are published (and one recently published) books I’ve read this year that have under 200 ratings on Goodreads and deserve more love!

One of these is also a sequel and like, seriously, the Frazzled books are amazing and if you read middle grade, 10000% worth checking out.

What have you been reading this month? Anything you loved I should definitely check out?

The following two tabs change content below.
Rashika has been tired since 2013. There are very few things that spark joy for her besides a nice cup of tea, warm, baked goods, good books and good TV shows. She is here to pile onto your giant TBRs and to-watch lists. Offer her a cookie and she might be nice to you.

February was a slow reading month for me– I just had too much going on to find adequate time to get some reading done. I hope March is a less stressful month for you!
Also I did discover a new favorite this month– I finally got around to reading Garden Spells by Sarah Allen and it was \amazing\.

I think I only managed to get two of my review back log read/listened to. The rest was all from my TBR. I had to finish the Night Prince series by Jeaniene Frost and I’ve been totally bingeing on Dannika Dark in audio. If you like snarky, kick butt action, she’s definitely a go-to.

I read a bunch of books. Some political thrillers, horror and a bunch of books with dogs in them for my Puppy Love Challenge. You have quite the mix of genres too.
