I’ve been so bad with new releases this year that I am not sure I even deserve to do a post about 2019 books I am most looking forward to but you know… every year is a good year for books and 2019 is no different!!! These occur in no particular order and there are tons I haven’t mentioned but I wanted to keep this as short as possible.
1. What Lies Between You In Me by Courtney Milan
Its funny because I mentioned this last year as a sequel I was looking forward to in 2018 but 2018 has passed and I am still waiting. I JUST WANT TO BE REUNITED WITH MY 55 yo son.
2. Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me by Mariko Tamaki
I will read whatever Tamaki writes (although this one in particular sounds amazing.) JUST SHUT UP AND TAKE MY (non-existent) MONEY
3. We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal
Everyone and their pet is awaiting this book and probs for a good reason. It has a stunning cover and it sounds amazing. I HAVE HIGH HOPES and hope they will be delivered.
4. The Downstairs Girl by Stacey Lee
I’ve been reading Stacey Lee since her debut and I’ve never been disappointed. Her writing is so lush and always transports me across time. I AM READY FOR HER NEWEST. Even if I had to wait for most of 2019 to read it.
5. The Deceivers by Kristen Simmons
A BOOK ABOUT A SCHOOL FOR ASPIRING CON ARTISTS? I AM FUCKING THERE ALREADY. PLEASE. PLEASE PLEASE. Just give me this book. I am so upset its going to be a while before I read it because Tor has that thing about libraries getting books *sobs in bilingual*
6. We Set the Dark on Fire by Tehlor Kay Mejia
Hi. Yes. I Would Like This Book.
7. The Takeover Effect by Nisha Sharma
Honestly, I am so ridiculously excited about this book, I am trying not to cry as I type this. Punjabi bros seeking revenge? THERE WILL BE ROMANCE? I NEEDS IT.
8. Her Royal Highness by Rachel Hawkins
I LOVED book 1 in this series and I am just really excited for Flora’s story.
9. Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
I’ve spent 2018 under a rock but I am fucking glad I didn’t miss hearing about this book because it sounds completely up my alley. A romantic comedy taking place in the foreground of some political shenanigans? Yes please!
10. Hungry Hearts: 13 Tales of Food Love edited by Elise Chapman
So right around the time this book was announced, I had just finished playing a game on my phone by the same name and it just felt like the stars were aligning and the spirit of Hungry Hearts would live on in this book. Anyway, I love food and anything relating to food so I am desperately craving a helping of this anthology.
11. The Right Swipe by Alisha Rai
I finally read Alisha Rai’s novels this year and fell completely in love. I need to read whatever she writes. Including her grocery list.
12. The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi
I am VERY HAPPY the wait for The Gilded Wolves is almost over because OMG. ITS BEEN ROUGH. Heists? A rag tag group? ROSHANI CHOKSHI. I will be reading this. SOON.
Are you looking forward to any of these books in 2019? What else are you waiting on? I NEED MORE BOOKS to read in 2019 (this is a lie but whatever…)

I am so excited for We Hunt the Flame! The Downstairs Girl sounds really interesting, and I’ve never heard of We Set the Dark on Fire but that cover has me intrigued! I hope you get a chance to read (and love!) all of these!

The Downstairs Girl by Stacey Lee looks good!
Amber Elise @ Du Livre
Ooo a few of these are new to me.
Don’t hate me. But I’m reading Gilded Wolves right now and I’m not…wowed. like it’s decent and the characters are fun, but I think I had higher expectations.
Madalyn @ Novel Ink
YES TO SO MANY OF THESE. I read We Set the Dark on Fire earlier this month and, um, it was incredible and I need book two now. I cannot wait for The Downstairs Girl, because 1.) Stacey Lee, and 2.) it’s historical fiction set in Atlanta!!! MY BRAND. I already have Gilded Wolves preordered and am so pumped that it comes out so sooooon! Also I need Her Royal Highness and Red, White, and Royal Blue so badly. GIMME ALL THE ROYAL ROMANCES.
Holly @ The Fox's Hideaway
So yeah, these are basically all on my list! The Takeover Effect and The Right Swipe! omg 2019 romance is on FIRE. Red, White and Royal Blue (literally have to force myself not to use the Oxford comma every fucking time I write this title). NEW STACEY LEE. And We Set the Dark on Fire is one of my most anticipated debut books. So is We Hunt the Flame!
Clearly you and I have good taste in books, who knew???
Holly @ The Fox's Hideaway
hello, it’s me again.
I meant to say, “clearly you and I have the same taste in books, who knew???” and now I’ve ruined it.
