Shooting Scars
Karina Halle
Series: The Artists Trilogy #2
Publication date: August 20th 2013
by Grand Central Publishing
Sometimes the right choice can be the deadliest.
When Ellie Watt made the ultimate sacrifice for Camden McQueen, she never thought it would be easy. But walking away with her ex-lover, Javier Bernal, in order to ensure Camden’s safety has brought a whole new set of dangers. With Javier’s plans for Ellie growing more secretive by the moment, Ellie must find a way to stay ahead of the game before her past swallows her whole.
Meanwhile, Camden’s new life is short-lived. Fueled by revenge and pursued by authorities, he teams up with an unlikely partner in order to save Ellie. But as Camden toes the line between love and retribution, he realizes that in order to get back the woman he loves, he may have to lose himself in the process. He might just turn into the very man he’s hunting.

The daughter of a Norwegian Viking and a Finnish Moomin, Karina Halle grew up in Vancouver, Canada with trolls and eternal darkness on the brain. This soon turned into a love of all things that go bump in the night and a rather sadistic appreciation for freaking people out. Like many of the flawed characters she writes, Karina never knew where to find herself and has dabbled in acting, make-up artistry, film production, screenwriting, photography, travel writing and music journalism. She eventually found herself in the pages of the very novels she wrote (if only she had looked there to begin with).
Karina holds a screenwriting degree from Vancouver Film School and a Bachelor of Journalism from TRU. Her travel writing, music reviews/interviews and photography have appeared in publications such as Consequence of Sound, Mxdwn and GoNomad Travel Guides. She currently lives on an island on the coast of British Columbia where she’s preparing for the zombie apocalypse with her fiance and rescue pup.

Nick @ Nick's Book Blog
The only one I would have wanted is Asylum, but the reviews have been so negative, so that’s out.
Hope you’re enjoying your time with Amy, Giselle! 🙂
Aneeqah @ My Not So Real Life
Eh, I wouldn’t break down any doors to get any of these, but I am interested in checking out Asylum despite the negative reviews. There’s also been a slew of good reviews for The Bone Season, but some bad ones as well, so I’m really on the fence with that one. I also think that The Infinite Moment of Us looks pretty good as well!
Kathy @ I Write, I Read, I Review
I’ll be getting Shooting Scars. Kinda glad there wasn’t too much that I wanted this week. If I remember right, there’s a lot next week and that’s bad because I’m saving for a trip next month.
TheSirenicCodex
I don’t know about these books but I might check out Schooled in Revenge as I love the show. Thanks for sharing 🙂

Alexia @ Adventures in Reading
I really want Asylum despite the less than stellar reviews. Also I’m excited about The Infinite Moment of Us.
Audris
Asylum has been on my radar for a while now. I love anything with creepy pictures and a good mystery!
Jen
Ahh, I’m so angry that I haven’t picked up Sins & Needles!! I’m really looking forward to Asylum and The Infinite Moment of Us, even if they haven’t been getting the best reviews. Thanks for sharing, Giselle!
Lanaia
I can’t wait to get Omens! Asylum sounds very interesting, but has low rating so I’ll need to read some reviews.. I want to read Sins & Needles too, I heard it’s great.
Melanie (YA Midnight Reads)
I’m reading Asylum soon but I know that I won’t like it from the reviews I’ve seen. *sigh* BUT I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE WORLD TO READ THE BONE SEASON. That book is fab.
Thanks for sharing, hon! <33
Eileen @ ***Singing and Reading in the Rain***
I remember how much you loved Shooting Scars and I seriously need to start that series soon. Unfortunately, I really didn’t like The Bone Season, even though I happen to be in the severe minority for that one >.< I've heard some iffy things about The Infinite Moment of Us too, but I thought Night Film release ages ago I remember seeing that book like a year ago O_O *waddles around* I must be losing it.
Fantastic post, Giselle! <33
Pili
So many of those books I haven’t even heard about, but I’m quite excited about The Bone Season!
Kristin@Blood,Sweat and Books
The cover change for This side of Jealousy still has my scratching my head. As for the books I’d like to at some point read Night Film and Omens but I’m not in any real hurry to do so.
gayle p.
I think I’d like to read OMENS. I would also like to try ASYLUM even with the bad reviews. Everyone sees things differently.
Savannah
I really wish I had more MONEY to buy every single book on here!
Mel@thedailyprophecy
The bone season & Asylum are two of the books I can’t wait to read 🙂
