Kiora thought she had never heard a lie until she was sixteen. But she was wrong. Her entire existence was based on nothing but. She thought that evil did not exist. Lie. That magic was not real. Lie. And that the land of Meros was all there was. One more lie.

With Aleric telling her that evil is knocking on the door and that she is the only one who can stop them she has a choice to make. Refuse, or start the wildest most painful ride of her life.
She reluctantly dips her toe into her new existence of magic and threads, dragons and shapeshifters, and the person who wants to take control of it all: the evil Dralazar.

However, this journey was never meant to be hers alone. She will be accompanied by a Protector. To her disbelief, and utter irritation they name the hotheaded, stubborn, non -magical, (albeit gorgeous) Prince Emane. They will have to trust each other with their lives, but right now Kiora would settle for a non hostile conversation.

And now it comes down to this, If you had never heard a lie, would you know when you heard one? Is knowing good from evil innate? Kiora finds herself having to decide who lives and who dies on those very questions.

I grew up in a comfortable house with two parents and a white-picket fence. My brother, Sam, and I used to play with sticks in the backyard and pretend they were swords. There were always cookies on the table and milk in the fridge. Then, one day, things changed.

Sam changed.

Life was never the same again. Sam left. My parents abandoned him when he needed them most, and I was left to survive in a house that was merely a shell of what it used to be. Mom cried all the time and Dad expected me to fill the void my brother left behind. But mostly, all we did was pretend. We pretended that things weren’t messed up. We pretended that Sam never existed.

Until I changed, too.

Now, everything’s a mess and I’m so confused. It’s like there are two different people trapped inside one body—my body—and one of them wants out. I do things. Bad things and I don’t know how to stop. I’m not sure I want to. The only way I can be normal again is if I find Sam. He’ll know what to do.

He has too.

I love how different these are! Wings of Arian’s cover is definitely sexy and powerful. This will be the first in a planned trilogy and it sounds awesome. Plus I got to know Devri on Twitter and she’s fabulous. As for Between I really like the ominous shadow on the ground! Plus Cambria is also fabulous and I really enjoyed the other books in the series so far! You can read my review of Masquerade here.

    I LOVE the Wings of Arian cover. Dark, gorgeous, and with lovely half-naked men. (shhhh, you didn’t see that last part) I’m also a fan of Between’s cover. I love the smokiness along the bottom and the dark, swirling font.

    I just love the shadow on the Between cover, and as for Wings of Arian, don’t mind me, I’ll just sit here and stare at that guy for a while. I’ll be very quiet, I promise. 😀

    Oh Wings of Arian sounds like something I would really like. I haven’t read a book with dragons before, unless you count Harry Potter 🙂

    I can’t wait to read Between either. I have my copy, will be getting to it soon….

    The Wings of Arian cover is friggin amazing!! I love it. It sounds fab too. The cover for Between is really cool. I like how the edges are kinda foggy, and the creepy red eyed shadow is awesome!
