Hello everyone!! I am part of the NIL on Fire blog tour and I have a great guest post from Lynne today! I really wanted to post my review with this, but I have had a lot of stuff going on lately and so I did not get to read it.  I definitely will be soon though and will post my review at that point.  Anyways, Lynne has given us a fabulous list of books to read if you liked NIL.

Top Five Books to Read if You Liked NIL

I ADORE THIS QUESTION!

I LOVE to read, and I devour books like chocolate. I’ve got weak spot for fantasy, but I love sci-fi, contemporary, thrillers, and more. Basically I love any book that sucks me in and won’t let me go.:) But, as you’ll see from my selections below, I’m drawn to character-driven stories. When I fall in love with the characters, I’m a goner.:)

For this post, I chose recent reads that gave me all the feels and left me with a serious book hangover. Books that I’ve recommended over and over again. So, if you loved NIL, I feel confident you’ll love these too!

In no particular order, here are five books I think you’ll love:

• THE WINNER’S CURSE by Marie Rutkowski

Okay, I’m totally cheating here (I know! I just started and I’m already cheating!) because I’m actually recommending three books in one, but trust me—it’s worth it. I ADORE this entire series! It’s YA fantasy at its best, brimming with an intricately woven plot, a richly crafted world, and multi-dimensional characters that capture your heart. And then, sweet Marie Rutkowski will shatter you with all the feels, because she puts her characters through such heart-wrenching agony that you’re left as breathless as they are. The writing is lyrical, the plotting superb. I didn’t want the last book to end.

If you loved the feels and star-crossed lover aspect of the Nil series–not to mention a kick-butt strong heroine–you’ll find it and more in this series. Love it!

• THESE BROKEN STARS by Aime Kaufman and Meagan Spooner

A dual POV YA sci-fi (like NIL), THESE BROKEN STARS sucked in me from the start and never let me go. I loved Tarver and Lilac for different reasons, and the character development (and character arcs!) were incredible. The plot unfolds intriguing layer by layer, but for me, it was the characters that drove this novel. Of course, I LOVED the trapped-on-a-strange-world-vibe, a similar eerie vibe that is also present in NIL.

If you enjoyed watching Thad and Charley (and later, Rives and Skye) work to unlock Nil’s secrets, I think you’ll really love THESE BROKEN STARS as well. I know I did!

• MY LIFE NEXT DOOR by Huntley Fitzpatrick

Oh my land, this book is one of my absolute FAVORITE YA contemporaries! The characters made this story come alive—the main ones, and the whole supporting cast. THE FEELS.

If you loved the interplay between the characters in NIL, then I’m betting you’ll enjoy MY LIFE NEXT DOOR. I read it in one sitting!

• A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES by Sarah J. Maas

If you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t heard of this amazing series yet (um, ACOMAF, the sequel, just debuted at #1 on the NYT Bestseller List), I highly recommend it. Again, I’m drawn to the epic characterization and development, which is seen though both books of this series. The story-telling is also superb. With a twist on retellings and world-building in perfect Maas-style, this series gets better with each book. Fantasy lovers are in for a treat.

If you liked all the feels of Nil, then I think ACOTAR will make you swoon (and possibly blush.:D)

• RED QUEEN by Victoria Aveyard

THIS BOOK. Oh, Victoria, you brought it all. Plot twists, secret abilities, characters to root for and root against…and a terrific world to spend time in. I loved this read, and the next one too! Plus, the the novella, CRUEL CROWN, let me dig even deeper into the characters’ backstories and motivations, which made me love the series (and characters!) even more. Highly rec this series! (Apparently I can’t stop cheating. If you add up up the sequels I’m recommending, I’m probably closer to ten books lol).

If you liked the intrigue and mystery of NIL, and the supernatural feel of the island, I’m confident that RED QUEEN (and its sequel) will rock your world.:)

What a great list of books!! I have actually read all of them except for A Court of Thorns and Roses and I have to agree they were all amazing!! It was so great to have Lynne here for a fantastic guest post!! Fun fact – When I opened the fist book in this series to read, I noticed the quote in it is a tattoo that I have and I tweeted at Lynne as soon as I saw it. It was funny because it’s not a common quote that I see often. I knew right away I was going to love this series!!
