Dusty Reads (3)

Posted by

Dusty Reads is a weekly post, hosted here by Giselle, featuring a book that has been sitting unread on my home shelf for some time. To participate, add your link at the bottom. If you wish you can grab the button and find more information here.

My pick this week:
Inside Out
Maria V. Snyder

Keep Your Head Down.
Don’t Get Noticed.
Or Else.

I’m Trella. I’m a scrub. A nobody. One of thousands who work the lower levels, keeping Inside clean for the Uppers. I’ve got one friend, do my job and try to avoid the Pop Cops. So what if I occasionally use the pipes to sneak around the Upper levels? The only neck at risk is my own…until I accidentally start a rebellion and become the go-to girl to lead a revolution.

Β I bought this early in the summer and it’s been sitting there since. I love dystopians. This one sounds particularly ominous. I also heard of the author before. I’ve never read any of her books yet though but I’ve heard she was great so I don’t know why I’ve been putting this off. Books like Name of the Star and Smoke and Bone that have been coming out weekly doesn’t help I’m sure πŸ˜‰
Have you read this? Let me know what you think.

I still haven’t read any dystopians books yet. This one sounds interesting since she uses these pipes to get to places where she shouldn’t be in the first place. Happy reading. Would like to hear more about it soon. πŸ™‚

  2. Amy

I’ve read this one and I enjoyed it. I loved the Poison Study series by this same author so I wanted to read this one too. Hopefully you enjoy this one too!

  3. Sue

havent read it yet, still waiting for it πŸ™‚

may i ask you a question? πŸ™‚ this post is some kind of meme or it is just your post? cause i like this idea very much πŸ™‚

  4. Giselle

Raine: No dystopians? *gasp* I recommend The Hunger Games (like everyone else πŸ˜‰
Sue: It’s a meme that I do on my blog. I haven’t made it public with a linky or anything. I might eventually.

I have this book sitting on my shelf too! I really need to get around to reading it, but I just have so many books on my TBR pile.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I can’t wait to hear what you think of The girl of fire and thorn. πŸ™‚

  6. Mimi Valentine

Ooh, I’ve heard so many awesome things about this book too! And just like you, I’m a HUGE dystopian lover so the premise definitely catches my interest. I don’t know whether it’s good or not, but I’m excited to read your review if you decide to read it soon! πŸ™‚

    Awesome pick, Giselle!

I really enjoyed this one and Outside In, too (though I liked Inside Out better). This one is much different than her other series, which is pure fantasy.

If you like some SciFi with your dystopian, you’ll really enjoy this story.

  8. Candace

I’ve read both the books in this series and while they aren’t my most favorite dystopians I did like them both a lot. The first one had me DYING cause I HAD to know where the heck they are! They are both quick reads as well. Hope you read it soon and love it!

  9. Danica Page @danica_page

I love Maria V. Snyder. I fyou haven’t read her Study series yet either, I totally recommend them.

I loved the characters and the plot. A read that you should definitely read.

Also, to those who said they haven’t read Dystopian, you definitely should.

  10. Book Sake

I haven’t seen or heard of this one before, but I like the sound of it. I have book one of the Poison Study series, need to get to that one as well!

I have been doing a weekly post of my review and recommendation for a book with one yr. or older pub. date. A few tweaks of the post and I am joining in. I haven’t read your pick yet. Another one staring me down from my shelf. Thanks for hosting.

A lot of great books have been coming out recently, haven’t they? It’s got to the point where I’m dying for a quiet month!
