Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

My pick this week:

Waiting on Wednesday (98)The Vanishing Season by Jodi Lynn Anderson
Published by HarperTeen on July 1st 2014
Genres: Supernatural, Thriller, YA
Goodreads

Girls started vanishing in the fall, and now winter's come to lay a white sheet over the horror. Door County, it seems, is swallowing the young, right into its very dirt. From beneath the house on Water Street, I've watched the danger swell.

The residents know me as the noises in the house at night, the creaking on the stairs. I'm the reflection behind them in the glass, the feeling of fear in the cellar. I'm tiedβ€”it seemsβ€”to this house, this street, this town.

I'm tied to Maggie and Pauline, though I don't know why. I think it's because death is coming for one of them, or both.

All I know is that the present and the past are piling up, and I am here to dig.I am looking for the things that are buried.

From bestselling author Jodi Lynn Anderson comes a friendship story bound in snow and starlight, a haunting mystery of love, betrayal, redemption, and the moments that we leave behind.

This sounds so up my alley it’s not even funny! It sounds like it’s being told from the ghost’s point of view (unless there’s a twist :D). Plus it’s Jodi Lynn Anderson! I haven’t read anything by her yet but she’s highly praised.

What are you waiting on?

I’m not sure I’d pick this up just randomly but I will certainly be anxious to see reviews. I’m sure someone would be able to convince me!

Wow the title alone gives me the chills, and then that first sentence is actually beautiful. The Vanishing Season definitely does sound up your alley, so I hope you end up loving it as much as you’re hoping to. I’ve heard fantastic things about Jodi Lynn Anderson, even though I haven’t read anything by her as well.

    Fantastic pick this week, Giselle!

Ooh, pretty!! This one is new to me, but I already know I need to read it, as well! I never read Tiger Lily by this author, but it seems like everyone raved about that one! Thanks for the heads up, Giselle!

Woah this sounds really good! And if it is from the ghost’s perspective that would be MADE of WIN. I still need to read Tiger Lily too but I’ve heard tons of amazing things! Thanks for featuring this one G, adding it to the TBR πŸ˜€
