Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we list top bookish things.
Note that Giselle and Jenni often decide to split it and each do a Top 5.

  • The Treatment (The Program #2) by Suzanne Collins:Β I loved The Program so much last year and it left me wanting so much more of Sloane’s story and to find out more about this twisted world. Β I haven’t seen many reviews for this one because I have been hiding from them, I hope I love it!
  • Sunrise (Ashfall #3) by Mike Mullin: This is one of my favourite series of all time. The world building and just Mullins’ writing in general never ceases to amaze me. What’s best about these is that you pick up a 600 page book and just fly right through it because it’s THAT good!
  • She Is Not Invisible by Marcus Sedgwick: I wasn’t the BIGGEST fan of Midwinterblood but I did love the writing a lot. Β She Is Not Invisible seems like the storyline may be a bit more up my alley so I am excited to see what it’s all about.

  • The Taking by Kimberly Derting: The blurb for this one really intrigues me. She blinks and is suddenly 5 years older? Eh creepeh! I actually read a book with a similar plot last year but that one didn’t fare too well – I hope this one gives me what I want! No pressure or anything, book!
  • The Dark World by Cara Lynn Shultz: I actually only received this one this week, and I have already been told I must read it ASAP by 2 people so we’ll keep this awesome vibe I got about this one! (Burst my bubble and die!! *walks away innocently*)
  • Dark Metropolis by Jaclyn Dolamore: People are saying this is a zombie book. So eeeeh… Yes please! Though recently they added a new “for Cassandra Clare fans” blurb that I will deny seeing! >.< Blurbs lie all the time, right? Psshhh!
  • Hexed by Michelle Krys: I’m a sucker for witch books and this one sounds like it’s got a good mix of darkness and romance that could make it a winner!

What’s on your spring TBR list? Any that matches ours?

Great lists, ladies!! I actually like quite a few in both. I’m most anticipating What I Thought Was True. I’m also excited for The Secrets of Lily Graves and The Truth About Alice. Can’t wait for spring!! πŸ™‚

  2. Nick @ Nick's Book Blog

So many of these books are on my TBR list for the Spring too. Jenni, I’m excited to read The Treatment as well. You haven’t read Huntley Fitzpatrick? I think you’re going to love her books! πŸ™‚
I love how you go for more darker paranormal books while Jenni goes for contemporary reads more, Giselle.
I’m very curious about Dark Metropolis. It’s been everywhere, but I’m so wary of new series lately. Hopefully, it’s as good as that blurb sounds. I’m looking forward to Hexed too. Who doesn’t love a good witch story!
    Thanks for sharing, ladies!

  3. Andrea @ Bookish

What I Thought Was True and The Truth About Alice are definitely on my list of books I need to read, stat! Of course, I’ve got to reach my Spring 2014 TBR “goal” first. Wish me luck! πŸ™‚

Jenni- I read The Secrets of Lily Graves and had SO MUCH FUN! I really hope you like it too. ALSO. READ What I Thought Was True! I really want to hear what you have to say about that one since I am really excited about it. I wasn’t the biggest fan of her first book but it was a fun read… this one though, it sounds right up my alley! And I didn’t like The Program so much .-. The best thing about the book was James (imo) but I really hope the sequel works out for you!!

Giselle- I am going to be reading The Taking soon so I hope we both like that one!! Faye loved The Truth about Alice so I hope you (and I both) enjoy it as well!! πŸ™‚ Also really excited about Hexed! I like witches (and I cannot lie). I requested The Dark World and I am crossing my fingers I get approved but I don’t think I will be *le sigh*. I’ll be on the lookout for your thoughts though!! πŸ™‚

Oh, Dark Metropolis! I kinda want to check that one out. And it has zombies? I didn’t know that… interesting. And yes, let’s just ignore that bit about it being similar to Cassandra Clare’s books πŸ˜‰

  6. Mel@thedailyprophecy

The Secrets of Lily Graves looks interesting πŸ™‚ I believe I snatched a copy from Edelweiss. I can’t wait to read The Taking and Hexed, I always like a book about witches. The dark world looks good, I haven’t heard much about this book. And I really want to get started in The Program.

  7. Lauren

Ooh great lists ladies! I am super excited for She is Not Invisible, Sunrise, Dark Metropolis and Hexed. I hadn’t heard of The Dark World, but it looks awesome! Love the cover and clearly I need to get my hands on it if it’s one of those “here, read this ASAP it’s awesome” kind of books. πŸ™‚ Thanks for sharing!

The Treatment was amazing. It was a beautifully done conclusion to the duology. I am so thrilled about how it ended. She Is Not Invisible really disappointed me, so I hope you end up liking it better than I did.So excited for What I Thought Was True. Definitely pre-ordering that one.I do need to read The Secrets of Lily Graves (probably next month)

    Giselle
The Taking is on my list as well. I definitely plan on reading that one soon as I’ve heard that it is awesome. The Truth About Alice was a disappointment for me. I had hoped for more but it just didn’t deliver the way I was hoping it would. Hope you like it better than I did.

  9. Kristin@Blood,Sweat and Books

Already read Sunrise, wasn’t a fan. I have The Taking and The Secrets of Lily Graves on my TBR and I’m looking forward to both. Saw Darkworld on I think Netgalley but not sure it is a book I want to read yet so didn’t request.

  10. Bonnie

SUNRISE. I’ve had this for a few months but have (somehow) managed to restrain myself. Soon. Very soon. Dark Metropolis is about zombies?? I had no idea. And yeah I’m trying to ignore that CC blurb too. Blah. Great picks!

  11. Amanda @ Book Badger

Some of these are great choices girls! I’d say out of them all I’m most interested to hear things about What I Thought Was True and The Truth About Alice, they both sound like fantastic books, and I’m a little interested in what you think about Hexed Giselle, I was anticipating it last year, but now I’m not sure.. I shall have to see. Great TBR lists! πŸ˜€

  12. Eileen @ Singing and Reading in the Rain

Ditto on The Truth About Alice and The Secrets of Lily Graves! Those sound really great and the PLL reference definitely caught me at first, too. But now I’m kind of not as big a fan of the series overall but I’m still super excited to read the book πŸ˜€ And The Truth About Alice definitely does sound like a book that sticks with you, which is my favorite kind of read! Thanks for sharing, ladies! <33

  13. Siiri

Haven’t seen (any) reviews either because The Treatment and I won’t go searching for them since I want no spoilers. I only know that The Program is about.. Um. Suicide society, yes? So that’s all I need to know and I’ll be binge reading this duology when #2 comes out. What I Thought Was True? CANNOT. WAIT. ANY. LONGER. The Truth About Alice, Giselle!!!! Cannot wait for this one. It dounds so intriguing and the reviews? Amazing so far. The Taking sounds like an intriguing read indeed. I wonder how you’ll enjoy it. I hope you’ll like it a lot:) Great picks, ladies!

  14. Melanie (YA Midnight Reads)

I am also planning on reading The Secrets of Lily Graves, Hexed and The Taking. My co-blogger wasn’t a huge fan of Lily Graves, so I am a bit wary on that one. I have high expectations for Hexed though! It looks fab.

    Great list, ladies! <33

Great picks. I really need to read Ashen Winter before the last book in the series comes out. And Darkworld looks interesting as well. So many books coming!
