Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews featuring the books we got this week, and I also mention blog news/happenings of the past week.

Hi everyone! Are you all getting ready for Halloween? I started decorating the house already – I’m a big fan of this holiday which is no surprise to those who know me >.< So this week on the blog I did a round-up of upcoming Halloween events if you wanted to join in on some book blogging fun. And also you should stop by Xpresso Book Tours I posted a pretty awesomesauce giveaway where you can win a Kindle Paperwhite or a gift card 😉 And now let’s see what bookish goodies I got this week!

THIS WEEK’S BOOK HAUL:

I received for review:

IMG_7890

The Young Elites by Marie Lu

eBooks:

*Big thanks to Disney-Hyperion, MacKids, and Penguin Canada for these pretties!*

That’s all for me this week!
XOXO

  1. Lauren @ Lose Time Reading

I’ve started to shop already for Halloween, I’m finding so many awesome decorations this year 🙂

I hadn’t heard of All the Rage before this, but I just added it on Goodreads! It sounds amazing and I’ve heard amazing things about Courtney Summers books (pft… i own them all and haven’t read them yet, epic fail!) so this is definitely going on the TBR!!

    Happy Reading Giselle 🙂

  2. Cait @ Notebook Sisters

Eeeep! I’m quite excited for The Young Elites! I’ve heard mixed things about it so far, but pffft. Every book gets seriously mixed reviews these days. (Humans, one would think they’re all different or something. 😉 lol) Still. I also need to read an Alexandra Bracken book too! ONE OF THESE DAYS….

  3. Jeann @ Happy Indulgence

Omg omg you got the Young Elites! I love Marie Lu and I can’t wait to see what you think of it! I haven’t read the Alexandra Bracken series either, but I hope you enjoy your books and have a lovely week Giselle.

  4. Melanie (YA Midnight Reads)

In The Afterlight: AHH SQUEEE! I am so excited about this one, I absolutely adore the series, and cannot wait to see how it all ends.
The Young Elites: I haven’t read anything Marie Lu but I am actually just about to order Legend because there’s so much praise for that series. I hope this one is just as good.
Conviction: it reminds me of the cover of Falling Into Place with that little car
    All the Rage: ERMAHGERSH.

  5. Carmen B.

I’m very curious about All the Rage! I’ve only read one of Courtney Summers’ books, Some Girls Are, and that one was very powerful in dealing with tough subjects. Happy reading 🙂

  6. Bean

The Young Elites! I am so excited to get my hands on this one!! I look forward to hearing what you think about it! Happy reading 🙂

  7. Carina Olsen

I AM JEALOUS. All the Rage. <3 SOOOBS. Dying to read this book 😀 I hope you will love it. <3 also so excited for The Young Elites 🙂 Happy reading sweetie. <3

  8. Kayla @ The Thousand Lives

Halloween is probably my least favorite holiday out of the year… I don’t really do anything remotely scary except for the show Supernatural 😛 But I do love all the Autumn decorations and pumpkin everything!

Ooohhh In the Afterlight looks gorgeous! I just started the series, and I’m about to read Never Fade this week 😀 I can’t wait for The Young Elites as well!

  9. Jasprit

Ohh this is such a neat haul Giselle! In the Arclight looks so pretty! I really need to get to my copy of Never Fade before this is released. Also I can’t wait to see how you get on with All the Rage, I absolutely adore Summer’s work! Happy reading! 🙂

  10. Erin @ The Hardcover Lover

I bought some polka dot glitter pumpkins at Target last week, and they are the perfect balance of dark and fun! My mom also made Peanuts cutouts when we were little from “The Great Pumpkin,” so those are now on display on the front porch. All that’s left is to get some black and orange lights and some real pumpkins!

I haven’t bought any books in a while, but I might add All the Rage to my TBR list.

    Happy reading!

I’ve just got out my decorations and am going through them to get rid of junk and see what I’ll use. I want it very scary this year!
Loving your book this week. Especially In the After Light and The Elites.
    Happy reading!

  12. Kristin@Blood,Sweat and Books

I’m super excited for Halloween as well. I just love this time of year. The new Courtney Summers looks really good, can’t wait to hear your thoughts. I think the only one I haven’t heard of is Conviction I’ll have to check it out further on Goodreads. I hope you enjoy all your new reads!

  13. Avanti Ciera

I love Halloween too! I’ve decided to be Minnie Mouse this year so now I’m just looking for the perfect costume. I don’t want to be too cute or too sexy, finding that balance is somewhat hard but I’ll find something. I haven’t started decorating my apartment yet but I do want to go to a pumpkin patch and bring home pumpkins to carve. I love roasting the seeds afterwards!

And I can’t wait to read the Young Elites! I love Marie Lu’s first series so I’m sure this one will be great as well.

  14. Pili

Ooooh The Young Elites and In The Afterlight! I’m quite curious about both, though I still need to start the Alexandra Bracken series, probably a good idea to do so now since the whole trilogy is out!

I love Halloween and spooky decorations and the like I absolutely enjoy! I also love the chance to dress up and bake some fall-themed cupcakes! 😉
