Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we list top bookish things.
Whoops! I meant to read these!
- This Shattered World by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner: Okay so this one is not super late, yet, seeing as it only came out a couple of weeks ago. But I had totally planned to read it during my vacation >.<
- Talon by Julie Kagawa: I was actually really excited to finally read a book by Kagawa when I got this at BEA. Fail, again. Me and her just don’t seem to ever synchronize!
- The Mesmerized by Rhiannon Frater: Dude! Y’all know by now Rhiannon is my girl, and I can’t believe I allowed this one to slip by *gasp*.
- Salt & Storm by Kendall Kulper: The reviews for this one were amazing at first in my GR feed, and then they weren’t so, so I kept hesitating. I do still want to try it out though I love witch books!
- Take Me On by Katie McGarry: I got my ARC of this one very close to release so I didn’t get to it on time. I love this series though so I will make time for it soon!
- Raging Star by Moira Young: I seem to have a hard time ending series this past year and this is one example!
- Life by Committee by Corey Ann Haydu: I actually didn’t really have this one on my radar until all my friends started to tell me I just had to read it. So I guess I’ll have to do that! >.<
- Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira: I was actually really looking forward to this one since I’d seen the premise/cover but then you know how that goes. Boo!
- The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski: This is probably my biggest fail of the year. I actually am super wary of books that get so much praise and tend to wait until it dies down. Plus if I wait I can binge read the entire series, right!?
- Three by Kristen Simmons: Another series I have yet to finish but seriously need to. I loved both book 1 and 2 in this one and I heard the finale was really good. I guess I’ll prepare myself to say goodbye *sniff*
Any books you meant to read in 2014 and didn’t get to?

Love Letters to The Dead, Talon, Salt and Storm all slipped through my fingers. I’m reading them this year for sure!
Pili
Love Letters to the Dead is also in my list of books to read, but I haven’t got to it yet, even if it’s in my Kindle library.
This Shattered World is in my list of “books to read as soon as they arrive in the mail” because I preordered it signed from Books of Wonder!
Nick @ Nick's Book Blog
This Shattered World is a must read, Giselle. I think you would love it. Same goes for Three. As for The Winner’s Curse, trust me, it’s better to read all the books together because the endings are painful. ๐
Julie @ Books and Insomnia
Aw, the only one I’ve read in this list is Love Letters to the Dead. I’ve been meaning to read The Winner’s Curse but never got to it.
JennRenee
Talon I missed too. I just put it on audio hold at my library. I feel the same about Salt and Storm. Love Letters to the Dead I loved.
great list.
Adriana C
Of your list I wanted to read Talon but I didnยดt have the time. ๐
Amanda @ Late Nights with Good Books
I quite liked Salt & Storm, Love Letters to the Dead, and The Winner’s Curse. I’m hoping to read Talon and This Shattered World soon myself, but there are always just so many books, so little time. I hope you are able to get to some of these soon, though, Giselle!
Bieke @ Istyria book blog
I haven’t read The Winner’s Curse and This Shattered World either. Although I do have a beautiful hardcover copy of this first one! ๐
Quinn @ Quinn's Book Nook
OH yeah, some of these I meant to read too. Like Life by Committee and This Shattered World. Oh and Love Letters to the Dead. I’ve heard that book is amazing.
Sophia @ Bookwyrming Thoughts
I never got around to The Winner’s Curse, but I got extremely lucky enough to snag the only copy at the library (along with other 2014 releases). ^_^ This Shattered World is definitely a must read and Talon is… okay. I didn’t really like it (felt very much like a regular YA paranormal romance and Hollywood is just hunting down the next Twilight. It’ll probably keep them busy for 5-6 years if it’s busy. :p). >_<
Aubrey Wynne
Oh, I have several I started and I never got to finish. Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel and Christmas Cowboy by Janet Daley are two I really want to get back to.
Jessica @ a GREAT read
Oooh nice! I LOVED Talon! That’s the only one I’ve read from this list! Hope you get to read all these this year and that you love them all too!
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!

So many of these are on my TBR! I loved Love Letters to the Dead, though.

I really did like Love Letters to the Dead. And The Winner’s Curse is one I haven’t read yet either…I’m curious, but you’re right, I never know what to think about books that get all sorts praise. It sounds good though!
Alma @ Journey Through Fiction
I didn’t get around to Talon and The Winner’s Curse, either. It’s so hard to get around to reading them all! I’ve seen some mixed things about Talon, so I’m a little apprehensive, but hopefully it’ll turn out to be really good ๐ Hope you get the chance to read all of the books on your list this year, Giselle!
Krystianna
Great picks! Love Letters to the Dead is one that I’ve heard pretty great things about and I think it has a very unique and interesting concept. I’ve been meaning to finish up the Blood Red Road trilogy though I’ve only ever read the first book even though I loved it so much. Since the last one is out I might as well just marathon it now! Hopefully you’ll get to all of these this year! ๐
Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian

I have a few of the same on my list: Talon, Life by Committee and Love Letter to the Dead.
Nova @ Out of Time
These are mine <3333
I really want to read Talon because The Blood of Eden series DESTROYED ME AND THEN BROUGHT ME BACK TO LIFE! Also Take Me on is at my local library and it taunts me because I know I can't read it yet!
Awesome picks
Alexa
I feel like so many people read and loved The Winner’s Curse and it did come out pretty early on in the year and yet I just never made time for it. Maybe now that the second one is close to coming out I’ll read both back to back.
Good luck on finding time this year for these 2014 releases.
alreem
many of these books are one’s i couldn’t read in 2014 but will try to read in 2015 ๐
Diamond @ Dee's Reads
ah there are SO many I’ve not been able to get to either! I love your picks, I have to say..you need to read Salt & Storm. Make time for that one, for sure. It’s unique and powerful and … just wow. really surprising. I really want to read the Winner’s Curse too! ๐
Ashley Farley
You didn’t miss much with Salt and Storm. Considering all the hype surrounding the release, I was totally disappointed. Love Letters Dead is also on my list. Have a good day.
Madiha@Symphony of Words
HAHA, Giselle, I had to get around to reading This Shattered World as well, but never could, because book slump + increasing TBR pile = epic fail. I will definitely give it a try this year, though. Great list, I hope you get to reading these as soon as possible, and I hope you enjoy them as well!
Bonnie @ For the Love of Words
I need to get around to The Mesmerized too! And I never actually got around to reading These Broken Stars so I’m a little bit more behind haha And yes! The Winner’s Curse! It’s a must read. ๐
SweetMarie83
I had a bunch of these on my tbr for 2014, too. I’m hoping to read This Shattered World soon, because I LOVED the first book. There are just so many amazing books, it’s impossible to keep up!
Melanie (YA Midnight Reads)
I’m totally not judging you right now *judge-y eyes* JUST KIDDING I’ve been pretty bad too–I have only read 3 books from your list but yessss Giselle you need to read This Shattered World! It is truly glorious and I am kinda glad that the romance took the backseat, heh.
Lovely review, hun <33
Olivia
Talon was one I was also really excited to read, but I have pushed it onto the backburner after not seeing the most positive of reviews. I bought The Winner’s Curse around winter time, and I cannot wait to read it before the next book comes out!
Jennifer Bielman
Yeah, same here with Talon and The Winner’s Curse. I really wanted to get to those. Ugh. Take Me on was really good!
Savannah
YES to most of these. My pile too has grown so much and then there are so many books being released its like I don’t have time to read them all.
Lyn Kaye
I need to get with it on This Shattered World….
